Morimoto XB HID 5500k left, stock halogen right. Not as blue as the pics but I still prefer 4500K I think image.jpg
VLEDS v3 LED fogs 5500K they're discontinued but only $80 and are super bright. Fogs don't throw far anyhow so the LEDs are perfect for this image.jpg
Low beams and fogs. Both 5500k but fogs appear more of a pure white. Once the HIDs are warmed up the difference is harder to tell image.jpg
Hard to tell what color temp the stock led bulbs are maybe 5000k?image.jpg

I feel I am a light snob...I love the color of our LEDs, but the fogs and headlights look too yellow for me.

For the fogs I am looking at OPT7 fog LED for $32 or OPT7 headlights $99 or morimoto for $150 and I am not sure of the difference as far as usability in town and off road.

Anthony- can you use your fogs in town?

For the headlights, I don't know if I want to go down HID road and replace every 3-5 years. Has anyone fit a LED in low beam and happy with the results?

How long does it take for the HID's to warm up? My factory HID's was only a few seconds. Pretty comparable?

I am installing the VLEDS HIDs in my Low Beams and the VLEDS LEDs in my High Beams and Fogs this week, I will let you know how they look.

Because of the placement of the headlights in the 2016 Tacoma it is tough to get a good quality LED Bulb into the Low Beam Socket, they don't fit.

My fogs are pretty bright I can easily use them on low speed roads instead of headlights. At 5500k they're pretty pure white

Only a few seconds. This was the first time I fired them up, they seem to warm up faster now and are more white. Plus that yellow of the halogens threw off my camera white balance

Someone had the XenonDepot LMZ chip headlights and although bright, do not project as far down the road. From what has been said and what I experience with my fogs, LEDs have amazing spread and very bright light, but do not have good projection for distances. So application in a high beam or low beam without properly designed projectors for the LEDs causes you to lose distance/visibility. In a fog light situation it is not an issue since fogs are low to the ground and generally dont throw far anyhow, in low/high beams it is a different story

Hmm. Interesting. Well I suppose I'll take those LED bulbs I have and fire them into my fogs.

I have LED bulbs in my fogs. VLEDs VX3, they work great in the fogs. I love the instant on at full brightness that you get with the LED vs the HID. That is why I wont put HID in my high beams, for passing lights they dont work very well since they have to fire and warm up

Anthony, can you do me a huge favor? I am wondering how your fog LEDs will work in our high beams. I know our fogs are diffused for wide beam and not distance, but our reflector in our high beams is just the opposite. A lot of the aftermarket h11 bulbs should fit in the h9. I would think that your 2800 lumen bulbs should do a good job compared to our halogens?

Ill see if I can get on a dark back road this week and do a comparison. They are easy enough to swap out

Gonna test this out tomorrow. One of my old Ballasts went out in my lows so I'm debating putting the old kit in my fogs whenever the company sends me a replacement and putting my LED bulbs in my highs. And then buy a morimoto kit for my lows during the group buy

I just put in morimoto LED fogs and their HOD system last night. The Fogs are awesome, bright and defined with a line very similar to the projectors. I didn't get to drive much with the HIDs but they are nice and I didn't experience any shake with them at all yet.

From what I've seen, there isn't enough room behind the headlight for a quality led and heat sink.

Your right, you have to go with HID's.
