I can't seem to get the math to match with those figures. I keep getting a MUCH lower payment with those figures and the 84% residual @ 36 months. The 84% sounds great, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around that figure... especially when I look at the $319 a month payment.

Hefty is the one who said he got a 84% residual, and a $239 payment. Those are consistent.

The Edmunds moderator (who has a source for residual info for all brands) says the residual for 7543 is 74%, not 84%.

    http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/7707/toyota/tacoma/2015-toyota-tacoma-lease-questions/

So I'm going to have to call shenanigans on 84% until you post your lease worksheet from the dealer. Note that 74% is still the best 3 yr residual I've ever seen for any vehicle.

    Ditto, and...

Looks like my original post will hold pretty true (the 72%).

TFS does not give out residual value until a contract is in place. Residual is something that is communicated by a dealer to customers. Calling total BS on your part again.

I checked with my dealer today about the security deposit and he said Southeast Toyota does not do that the last rime he checked. He was going to look into it again to make sure.

That's another BS answer. MSD is thru TFS, not the dealer. It'd be true if SET is holding the lease note, but BS if TFS is holding the note for your lease.

Yeah, SET is who holds the note. If this is something I end up doing, I might have to go out of state.

SETF only requires a security deposit if you are not creditworthy. The lower your credit score, the more security deposits you are required to put down. You can opt to not put any security deposit down, but your money factor goes up .00010 for every security deposit not put down.

FYI....I have worked for Toyota for 15 years. Every bank that leases cars publishes a bulletin listing their rates and residuals on a monthly basis. It has nothing to to with what is "communicated by a dealer to customer." You can call BS on whatever you want. It really doesn't bother me. Just don't be the a-hole that walks into a dealership thinking you know more than everyone else, because that is a sure way to get blown out. I am sharing my experience because maybe someone that may not be as open-minded to leasing would consider it. I have been leasing Tacomas for the last 10 years and have never had a payment over $250 on a $30k+ trucks. I lease all of them and it suits me just fine.

84% residual is not something consumers will get. You got that solely because you work at a dealer. The 84% residual for THREE years still looks made up. Who's to say you didn't walk into the finance office and asked your buddy to print it out. Congrats on getting a truly exception deal if you did though. Not hating.

The sheet I got is for 7545A; 82% for two years @ 12K miles per year. The same holds true for 7543A.

    Key:
LOW = 12,000 miles per year
STD = 15,000 miles per year
    Model: 7545A

Do me a favor. Pick up your phone and call any Toyota dealership in NC/SC/GA/FL/AL. Ask to speak to a sales/desk manager or even a finance manager. Ask them to look up the residual for you on a 7543 for 36mo/12k and they will share with you exactly what i have been saying. The residual did drop on 11/3 to 82% but the residuals from 10/1-11/2 was at 84%. My discount came in the form that I paid invoice for the truck, I used 4 coupons to reduce the money factor, and there was no markup on the acquisition fee.
FYI....the residual % is what everyone gets, there is no fluctuation on that.

This is not true. All residuals are places on invoice of the truck. If any of you guys need resid's for a specific vin, let me know and I will give it to you. Just here to help fellas.
