Does anyone here know how to weld aluminum or know anyone that does around the Golden area? I have a project for a design class that I need to weld up some aluminum parts but I am not the best aluminum welder nor am I too sure I can get access to a shop.

I think you have to be a part of certain departments or have special permission to be in certain workshops. There is no general shop that is open to all students with things like welders, chop saws, Grinders, and the like. Plus, Freshman don't have near the amount of access to shops as say like graduates or even second or third year students do.

Ah I see. We sucked up to a bunch of Subaru hipsters in FSAE at school so we could have access to their TIG and MIGs lol

people at mines are generally pretty willing to help or to hook up with with someone who will but you gotta figure out who and when to ask

There are fab shops in the basement of Brown and I know they have MIG and arc setups but I'm not sure if they have any TIG stuff, which is what you'd need for aluminum

Sweet. I'll ask around and see what I can find out. Maybe someone can drop me a line on a TIG machine around here. Thanks for the knowledge

Back to civilization. We did great this year. 6 bucks, 2 bulls, and 1 cow. It snowed for 3 days straight and kept the elk beded down for too long. They started being active the last day of the season.

Yeah the Bucks always tally that high for us, prolly saw at least 30 shooter bucks. Last year we had the same amount of elk as we had deer so we had a slower season this year. We called our last bull in to about 350 yards then bam on the ground, that was pretty awesome perfect shot by my buddy.

I've got rifles, I dust them off occasionally. I admit to having a bad run of luck the last 4 years but not from lack of trying. Next year, trophy doe for sure ;)
