Plot twist. Bought a softopper. $400 shipped for a tan one that's been used for a few months. I am torn on whether or not the color will look good but at that price I can sell for little to no loss. It will serve it's purpose through the winter, I can decide if a softopper is actually for me, and if I don't like it I can probably find a buyer when I join in on the moab madness this summer.

I think so too. I have held up tan backpacks and such to my truck and think it would be a nice contrast. If for some reason it doesn't match MGM well, 90% of the time my truck is tan from mud sooo I guess I won't wash it . All MGM tacos with tan softoppers are boring stock trucks with little to no personality. Baby taco has the confidence to pull it off. Hell, if it was pink it would look good .

Yep, can be somewhat boring? So beautiful tho.
I've lived in the California desert and Colorado Springs, so I've experienced lots of fun off road fun, I do miss it, your photos brought back lots of good 4 wheeling times ,was able to drive the Pikes Peek up hill race course the day after the race, back when it was all dirt. .probally 10+ yrs ago, they closed the course to the public shortly after that? They've since then started racing it again, but not as crazy, stoked I got to experience it when I did, anyways-really enjoy your flicker photos. .I just opened an account, one more social media forum I need to learn

I think it will clash but still good deal.

Yea true. I know I couldn't also because of the weather. I like cold. Haha

Plenty of good flickr accounts to go through. Its pretty easy site though. Sometimes odd. But not too bad.

What a horrible situation for that dog. Prime example of not being prepared to own and take care of a dog. Hopefully he makes it through surgery safe and sound.

So my battery was dead dead this morning. Like couldn't even unlock the doors dead, no door chime either. This was with a new battery from the store.

I'm planning on picking up a voltometer to check for a parasitic draw after class but am looking for ideas to what may be the cause.

Only no stock things I have hooked up that can run with out the truck on are Dullays and a CB radio hooked up to a blue sea fusebox.

Haha no lights left on. I just got this battery put in a few weeks ago so I hope it isn't just cold weather. I had to battle with advanced auto parts to get it warrantied but don't really want to do that again

You don't know my situation nor have you seen first hand how I treat my dog. He comes first in my life, even before myself. A person simply cannot watch a dog 24/7 and keep it from ingesting something, shit happens it was an accident. I rushed him to the vet as soon as I noticed he was having issues. Turns out the vet is now saying it looks like it's just inflammation of the intestines, when it is all said and done, it'll be close to $600 in vet bills, have I batted an eye at even dropping that much on him? No. Do you know any other single 20yr olds who could even come up with that much for emergency vet visits? Please do not call me a "prime example" of someone who isn't prepared to own an animal.

    Thanks.

You're right about one thing. I don't know you but I do know what you have willingly posted on a public forum. I never once said you didn't love Bravo or give him enough attention. That's great if you do but that is also the easy part of owning a dog. I am glad you decided to call me out too. I was itching to post more but decided not to as I also understand that losing a dog is hard. Even harder when it is YOUR fault.

Let's start with quoting the post that initially infuriated me right away. This is pretty much copied and pasted into every craigslist "I need to re-home my dog" ad.
You hate that you have to do this but yet you are? Hmmm. I am sure there is absolutely no way you could possibly find a way to keep him. No possible way you can find another place that allowed a dog. I get it, finding dog friendly places is HARD. Finding a place that will allow a German Shepherd is even harder, but you should have known this prior to taking on the responsibility of owning a German Shepherd...I mean, that's what a responsible dog owner would have done. Any one that does their homework knows that many rental agreements have a specific portion that prohibits certain breeds of dogs known to be aggressive. What can you do in this situation? It's crazy, I know, but maybe you should find temporary housing for him while you live out of a car, on the street, or wherever you can until you find a place to have a dog.

I am sure you are saying that you can't find a place where you can temporarily house him. Guess what? Another thing a responsible owner has lined up. Before getting my dog I knew that at some point I may fall into this exact situation but I talked to my parents to make sure they would be able to watch him in such a predicament. I also have a few friends that also have dogs and talked to them to make sure they also would lend a helping hand. I would do the same for them.

    Moving on...
So I got a few things from this post. One, you agreed to getting a dog you couldn't afford without the aid of another person. That's awesome. No way would someone that was in a position and mindset to own a dog AVOID THAT EXACT SITUATION. When I picked up my pup I had everything determined. How much food would cost, toys, extra rent, time needed to spend with him, etc. Call me crazy but what you did sounds like the exact opposite of what someone who was ready for a dog would do.

Second, you are attempting to make yourself out like a good person. "I am doing this for his benefit". BS, you are doing it for you. If you kept him you would have to make drastic changes to accommodate him. I have changed my career goals for my dog already. In the job field I will be entering soon I can travel from seasonal job to seasonal job. I can work in amazing places like New Zealand, South America and Australia. Instead I am setting myself up to transition straight into a fish hatchery job. Why? Because I care more about my dog than myself. If I can't land a hatchery job, guess who is going to be flipping burgers and eating rice and beans for every meal. This guy.

Yes, I actually do. I, at 20 years old, had 10k+ in my savings from money I earned (Not a penny from my parents). I did not own a dog because I was not ready nor could I. If I did, I would drop every last penny I could on him/her. Being in college I know a few dog owners that save every last penny of their scholarships that they can. Why? Because shit happens and they don't want to be in your position begging strangers to fix their problem.

I am now 25 years old with a savings account that is similar. I maintain it, watch my spending and save more when I know I am about to be jobless. It's not much, but it is enough to account for emergency situations...ya know, like my dog eating something he shouldn't. I also keep my credit in good standing so if it ever came to it, I could get a loan to get my dog the treatment he needs. As a last resort I know I have people who trust me and would loan me money.

Additionally, one of my past roommates who is currently a grad student (aka, crap pay) got a puppy and within the first few months had racked up over $1,000 in vet bills due to urinary infection, eating rocks, vaccines, etc. She had no problem paying but that might be because she took it into consideration BEFORE getting a dog.

Puppies are approximately 2 months old when they are purchased. So at a maximum you have successfully (lets use that word loosely) owned a dog for 8 months? In other words it took you 8 months to fail Bravo. I don't see how you can claim to not be a prime example of someone getting a dog when they shouldn't have.

What's worse is that German Shepherds make very deep emotional connections to their owners. They are not a breed that does well with being passed around from one owner to the next (not that any dog is). They are extremely loyal and that is what makes them an awesome dog. Again, I am sure you knew that but decided to get a dog when you obviously couldn't support it.

So I stand by my comment that you are a prime example of someone who was not prepared to own a dog.

Sooo, in other news, I finally got some time to start fabricating some mounts, for some 9" lights that I bought off iggy, man, those things are beasts, and I had to thin lip my grille, not super pleased about that, but it might look a little better than the deep dish I had
