Hit 10k after 6 months. So, today I changed the oil and added an ADD W1 oil catch can. Meant to do the diff breather mod today as well but the weather sucks and I don't feel like it lol.

Changed the oil. And finally installed redline hood struts from the group buy forever ago. Not very impressed with them so far.

Interesting....first person I've heard with a negative comment on these. What is it about them that you are not impressed with?

They lift fine once they get going but I have to manually lift the hood up a good foot and a half before they do their job. I've watched a couple videos on these and only saw people lift up about 6 inch to get the hood going. I cycled them and everything before I installed them and they were stored inside all day so I wasn't suspecting they were cold or anything.

Maybe they just need to break in idk. Either way less than stellar first impression for price and the trade off of drilling a bunch of holes.

Are yours the ELITE, or not? I've been thinking about getting them but hadn't yet.

No not elite I believe mine were the plus, whatever middle tier was. I just watched a few more videos on other model vehicles maybe I'm just being picky or was expecting something else.

It's all about leverage. When the hood is near level it "weighs" more. Very hard for those struts to lift it. I find it difficult to CLOSE the hood due to those struts personally. Have to slam that sucker now.

same here. Kinda annoys me. But i removed them when ibswapped sr5 hood for a skewp. So been thinking about mounting closer too the hinge. Cause the spot the instructions tell you to drill makes it lift to a lower height than the prop rod

Finally did the diff breather relocate mod. Wow my bed looks really dirty in this pic. O well, it's a truck, and gets used like one. I blame Northwestaco and JDAM, cuz they inspired me to use my truck for what it was designed for. Thanks guys!

Haha of course not! I actually thought to myself 'I would like to see if crawl control can get out of this shit!'
