    If you're 2WD you could ditch the spacers, skip the UCA's and buy maxtrac spindles.

    Why not just go 2" lift to avoid the alignment (and other) issues. Some Billie 5100's (or nitrochargers) and OME 884's and call it a day.

    Only one is screwed. 2 have less than 1,000 miles on them and are in perfect shape. The other good one has right at 10,000 miles on it and is also in perfect shape. So if by "fucked up and poorly worn 285's" you mean 1 tire out of the 4 on my truck then yes.

    Dont make the mistake again by getting longer springs just for the sake of a lift. They won't match the shocks and will ride terrible. I've been through 3 sets of suspension first spacers, then DIY from toytec (springs, 5100 and adjustable collars) only to be disappointed again and finally went with coilvers and UCA's. Night and day difference dude!

    Yeah more than likely what I will do is take everything off and drop it back down to stock. Ill keep the AAL, toss the spacers and save for coilovers and UCA's. That seems like the best route at this point.

    You could get the UCA's for now since you will need them anyways and save for a decent set of coilovers. Either way you're going to need a new alignment and unless you have a smaller set of tires to swap back on you're not going to be able to remove the spacers yet.

    He could do that, but it would mean he would have to take it apart twice. I don't know about you, but I don't like placing more time into something if I can do it all at once. Just my thoughts. :notsure:

    Doing what twice? He's talking about removing the spacers and putting smaller wheels on and getting an alignment until he saves for new coilovers and UCA's and ANOTHER alignment.

    I suggested getting the UCA's right now, getting an alignment and getting coilovers later.

    What exactly is he going to be taking apart twice? If he sets the new coilovers at the same height he's at now he won't even need a second alignment. It's actually LESS work this way and one less alignment. :crazy:

    My bad, I thought he was just doing to leave the spacers/current setup on there UNTIL he got the new coilovers and UCA's. I wouldn't want to purchase new UCA's without coilovers and install them. That would require having to go back and install the coilovers at a later date. In other words, having to take the components apart TWICE. You don't have to be a smartass to get your point across.

    I think you're still confused about the process.

    Leave everything as-is.
    Install new UCA
    Get alignment
    Save for coilovers
    Install coilovers.

    Nothing is being done twice. I suppose you would have to take the tire off and disconnect the upper balljoint twice? I don't see the difficulty in that. :notsure:

    That was meant to be taken as a joke. If I was serious, I wouldn't be posting memes:cheers:

    Yeah I understand the process, but what I'm saying is that he is going to have to take the truck apart twice. If he installs new UCA's, that's the first time. When he installs the coilovers later on, he's going to be taking it back apart to install them. I consider taking the wheel off and removing pieces of the suspension as being "taken apart".

    Well, it's less work and money than:
    Remove 4 larger tires/wheels
    Remove spacers(which requires removing coilovers)
    Install 4 smaller tires/wheels on
    Get alignment.
    Save for new UCA's and coilovers.
    Remove smaller tires/wheels
    Remove stock UCA's and C/O's
    Install new UCA's and coilovers
    Put bigger tires/wheels back on
    Get another alignment.

    Plus that would require driving a boring stock truck around for a while. :annoyed:

    Oh I totally agree with you on that part. I would just keep driving the truck with the spacers until he is able to purchase the UCA's and coilovers. I mean it really isn't going to hurt anything considering he mentioned purchasing a new drivers side front tire considering the uneven tread pattern. Now if both tires were receiving uneven tread wear, I'd probably go ahead an get the UCA's. I am the type of person that likes to get everything done while I already have it apart. To each is own I suppose :D

    Just do it right OP, a 3" lift requires UCAs, end of story. That's why I stuck with a 2.5" lift. Does a 33" tire really give you that much more clearance over a 32" that it's worth what seems to be the headaches that some people are getting with a 33" tire?
