This should help find almost everyone some ethanol free gas. Only updated via site users, so maybe only partially current. Places around me used to carry mid-grade and premium but dropped the mid grade.

I use it in my chain saws, weed whacker, gas driven welder/generator, log splitter and sometimes the Taco. No problems with any of those.

In Canada Shell V-Power is always ethanol free. If anyone is looking for ethanol free here.

Hey everyone!! An automotive question for you! :D

Our Civic's owner's manual says to use 0W20, and of course it says "genuine Honda only."

Normally we buy cases of whatever oil needed (has been 10W30 for both cars for 10+ years) at Costco and change the oil at home. Pretty cheap, easy, convenient.

Trying to figure out what to get and where to get it to be able to change the oil on this car at home and save $ without compromising what it actually needs in oil quality. I see that Costco sells a Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil OW20 (although they are out right now online, of course ). But the Honda brand oil is titled "synthetic blend" and "blended synthetic".

Any thoughts for us anyone? Want to be sure we get a good system down caring for the new Honda baby. :D

Check to see what standard Honda publishes their oil to. Once you know that if the oil meets the standard all is good. Btw I doubt anything bad would happen if you used any major brand 0w20 in your civic.

just get a 5 quart bottle of the Mobil 1 (or any other brand) Full Synthetic Motor Oil OW20

and a note for eric, do not to panic when changing oil, its super thin like water and doesn't even feel or look like oil, but that's just how thin it is. the zero in zero 20 is literally zero viscosity so its nothing like the oil you are used to seeing, feeling, or using.

it doesn't need to be sealed like granite does and it doesn't stain like marble does so its better then natural stone for those reasons, in my opinion.

I don't know about the cultured (poured) granite or marble, since they are poured and molded into the size and shape you want, these might not need sealing and could be stain proof, im just not sure but it's the most affordable type to use since its manufactured and not natural stone.

My 3000 psi pressure washer has your Honda 160 motor you have on your mower. A good little unit and they sold ALOT of them to everyone. Massive gallons of fuel thru mine.

Ha! good one. Fishing for dogfish, with real bait.

Ow-20 is pretty rare in anything except full synthetic.

My Tundra calls for it as well. The only brand I can find is Mobile 1 and Valvoline. I know Castrol had that blend, but its always gone when I shop for oil.

Whoops, prolly should post where I got it.

    Good, old Walmart.

Agreed. I was aware of Amsoil, but did not include it. I'm not a fan, nor a fan of the price.

    Morning TW!

Thanks for the oil advice with the Civic. We have til probably early spring-ish before we need to change it, but I wanna get a plan in place and a maintenance schedule set up in Excel :D Nice to be able to bounce this stuff off you guys.

Funny story of the day, at my expense (as usual :D):

Decided over the weekend that we'd drop our old dead Briggs & Stratton mower off at a local mower repair shop to dispose of it.

Just goofing around, Eric tried firing it up once more, as he was wheeling it out to the Taco for it's final journey to it's final destination.

Guess what? Not only did it start, it STAYED RUNNING.

I must be cursed or something. I swear, before buying the new Honda, I tried that damn thing 100 times, 100 different ways. Eric did too! WTF??????????????????? It's possessed!!!

The Honda has been used, so there's no returning it. Plus I really can't say I want to, now that I've experienced it's awesomeness. :D

But good grief. Really? :facepalm:Definitely would not have spent $$$ on a new mower right now, had we known. Truly unblankingbelievable.

And I really wouldn't feel good trying to sell it to someone now, knowing it's been so problematic for us. Seems like bad karma waiting to happen. Not really sure what to do, but keeping two mowers is definitely out.

Got the BFG's taken off the Taco this morning, and the studded Bighorns put on. Not because we need studs for our driving conditions anytime soon - because the BFG tread is wearing thin fast and we want to get some use out of the Bighorns, which are still nearly new. Someone recently told Eric a story about going to a tire place and they wouldn't let her leave because her tires were so bald - something about she had to call her husband to come down there and talk to them or some craziness like that. Fearing we could possibly be facing a similar situation when April 1 rolls around and we HAVE to remove the studded tires and put the BFGs back on, I asked them if they'd put them back on in spring, based on the current tread left. They said yes. :yay: Tire expense delayed another year :D I ♥mytacolots :) And I ♥mylocaltiredealer :) Go Les Schwab!! :)

PS: I wonder if a new set of BFGs for this Taco would fit other years of Tacos? Do you guys know? We have 15" wheels. The tire guy said other years are 16-17" wheels, but that if the lug pattern was the same, it could work with different wheels. Does that sound right? Is the lug pattern the same on other years?

its them raccoons, they was screwing with it when you weren't looking, first to break it, then to fix it when you bought a new one

give the mower to a needy family, after all, it still works and runs so im sure someone is desperate for one. just post it on facebook and sasy it sometimes doesn't want to run.

why give it to the lawn mower guy to sell to someone so HE makes money off of it??????????? that makes no sense at all

Les Schwabs has done that in the past also,,with bad brakes. Worked there for a bit swinging hammers on truck tires. Folks wanting to drive out with junk brakes, and they are not allowed to leave as per insurance. You can call a tow truck, and have it transported off there property. They have been bit in the past by the lawyers and lawsuits for letting junk rigs drive off the lot and someone gets hurt after they leave and after the shop had put hands on it,,even thought it wasn't there problem in the beginning. Sucks, and it makes crap expensive and folks pissed off.

So, you now have a old mower that runs?,,how much is it worth now?, (you ask the mower guy as you drop it off). Just to let him know that you have this stuff figured out. Might save you a few bucks in the future with this guy if you decide to go back.
