I'm so happy it's raining but it's killing my valve cover replacement. Got 2 hours in this morning, started raining, now was about to button up one side and here comes the rain. Going to be a long night but this next side will go a lot faster.

Well, I have to work basically the next 2 weeks straight, again, and then get off the friday before Mod day. Although I'm thinking on taking Friday off since I've got 2 more Use or Lose sick days.

Well I'm removing a supercharger, replacing the belts and valve covers so it's been a lot but not bad. Got one side all cleaned up and started to bolt them on, but the rain hit so I had to head in. Need to grab all my stock manifolds from the shed and see what I'm missing.

on the short beds it hasn't been a problem for me yet and let me tell you i beat the shit out of my BMAF sliders this weekend. and even put some scratches and dings in my rear diff and drive shaft. i got hung up on my slider and had to winch off of it. there isn't a foot in between the end of slider and tire.

Who was at home depot tonight in Concord? Black with a bed cap, lumber rack, SCS rims and a BAMF behind the grille light bar. Looked good! Would like to know what exhaust you had on there.

Yea Looking at it I have MAAAYBBE a foot tops between end of slider and start of tire at stock height. That's on 31's lol. Once I stuff some 34s or 35s in there with fiberglass, I'll probabyl have a couple inches between slider and tire, so I'm not super worried. plus the kick out will protect the glass. Obviously small sharp protrusions will poke through, but meh...I'm not planning on doing any super crazy rock crawling, so I'm not overly worried. So, who wants free pizza and booze for a CMC and sliders installed

I need some opinions.... In the next 3-4 months I'm looking at buying a better second vehicle than my little '84 2wd pickup. I need 4 doors for future kids, right now I'm looking at a 4th gen 4Runner or a 2nd gen DCSB tacoma.

I'm thinking of getting a prerunner if it's a tacoma, it's just going to be a grocery getter/DD/dadmobile, so I think a prerunner will be good. Plus I will have a 1st gen sas on 37s if I want to play. I guess my question is 4x4 or 4x2? I know lots of you have kids so input would be good!

well a) prerunner means 2WD :D. and B) go for the 4x4. its negligible mpg difference.

Well, 4x4 is always there when you need it. I think buying a 4x2 is sort of a waste. And VolcomTacoma is right about the mileage. Would really save any money with a 4x2?

Well, having bought a prerunner first and having a great time with it in SoCal for 3 years, I can this, they are still great trucks and can do plenty offroad, but coming to NorCal, I feel that they can't do nearly as much. Shit just some of the trails at hollister that I'm sure most guys think are tame, I had a bunch of trepidation towards because I had never used 4x4 before and didn't realize how much it helped. That being said, I barely see a gas mileage difference, maybe an mpg or 2, but it's really hard to tell because of the variables (bigger tires on prerunner vs Supercharger on 4x4 but MT's in a smaller size) .

As for the price, prerunner's typically go for about 3-5k less than a 4x4, depending on where you shop, and if you're a chump :D

That all makes sense to me. If I were to buy a baby pusher, I would still look for a 4x4. At some point those babies become children, and children like snow.

I've had 2wd trucks and now this AWD/4x. I've only needed it 3 times in 3 years. But that's because I don't have a designated wheeling truck.

Buying price would be less out of pocket initially and no loss of possibilities. I'd go with 2wd
