Nicely done! If the need arises to haul stuff it's nothing a 5' trailer won't fix.

I'm getting $5000 off MSRP...and $29,500 trade. It's working pretty well. All negotiations were done online over 2 weeks. I'm just here to sign papers. Dealer is 70mi from home. I'm quick to get up and leave if things aren't working out, so I wanted to make sure all was well before driving.

Too late, you're in it now so when are you going to the dealership? lol :D My wife is getting a new car in the spring and I'm trying to push her into a 4Runner but she doesn't want two vehicles that suck gas so she's thinking Rav4:eek:

I saw an 89 4 cylinder 4x4 with 175k today for 2250 OBO. Beat up but it looked like everything under it was in good shape. I am very tempted to buy it as a beater/project truck.

RAV4 is a great vehicle man. I almost bought one for my wife last time around, I'm not going to lie. We ended up with a VW Wagon instead.

Yeah, I got it. Trade value went up a little before all was said and done. I'll post a pic or two later on. Initial impressions are quite favorable. I don't want to say it makes the Tacoma interior look bad...but it tries really hard. Everything just feels more refined. I was pretty damn impressed while driving home.

I do prefer the seats in a 2nd gen Tacoma. Wife prefers the 4Runner seats.

There's no light in the cargo area. Which seems kind of dumb.

The rear of the center console replaces cupholders with actual A/C vents. And 2 12v sockets, which is AWESOME if you have kids that have to use iPads for school. Need to figure out how to take the lids off before they break off.

Initially I didn't like the removable cup holders in my 15 Tacoma. I came to love them the first time a soda spilled. All the cup holders in the 4Runner are removable. There are only 2 on the center console, though. The 3rd spot being taken up by the transfer case shifter.

Overhead console has CRAWL and multi terrain select. And moonroof. So...no sun glasses holders. Pair that with the larger format of the A/C and radio controls, and there isn't much room for little storage.

Overall it kinda seems like there's less space to store stuff out of sight. Like no storage under 2nd row seats. Maybe I just haven't dug around enough. I'll be doing that today while trying to figure out how to use a Yakima roof (bike) rack inside. Which reminds me....I wish the 2nd row seats had plastic backs. Or that Toyota made something aftermarket. Or Husky. Or Weathertech. Anyone who makes a cargo liner.

Oh, and the disc brakes BLEW MY MIND. OMG.

It did drive nice. Smoother. I was expecting it to feel like a Tacoma. Not sure if it's suspension set up or extra weight. Either way, I think this one will be sticking around for a while.

My GF, basically fiancé, got a new rav 4 about 3 weeks after I got my truck. I love that thing, it handles extremely well, gets good gas mileage, and comes standard with all kinds of gizmos. My biggest gripe with it is that seating it isn't great if you are over 6 feet tall, the seat doesn't go back far enough.

I had a closer look at the Rav4 yesterday and was impressed. I'm exactly six feet and didn't have any problems with getting the seat back far enough, in fact I still had room to go further back. That said, my brother drives his JK like he's lying down and complains about how short I must be because of the seating position in my truck. We're exactly the same hight. Some like sitting upright, some like seating more leaner back. I like siting upright.

In the end we will probably end up getting the Rav4, there really isn't anything else out there. Subaru is currently being sued for excessive oil consumption so it's a no go. I wouldn't buy another Hyundai with someone else money and the American name brand vehicles don't really have anything that interests us. May even have a look at the Hybrid when it comes out since most of our driving is in the city.

We couldn't decide and ended up with a 14 dcsb sport and 15 4Runner trail. Love them both

The better half has about 2k on hers and we are both very happy with it. Both she and I would buy it again given a redo. It really is a great vehicle. The only other thing I would consider in that category is a Honda CRV. I am 6 3 and I can still drive it comfortably but it is just strange in the knee area. I'm not far from being in the dash. It just feels to me like the seat should go back another click or two. Not a big deal though.

It seriously drives like a car too. Highway speed here is 80mph and it almost feels slow in it. You'll be happy if that is what you land on.

Sorry to get so off track.

And there it is. Spent this evening trying to take off the front valence. Kinda harder than I thought it would be. Probably because my only lighting was a Petzl head lamp. I'll save that plastidip project for next weekend. The holes left by the front plate bracket thing kill me.
