I had some wheels on my Pontiac G8 that I wanted swapped out with my current tires onto new 19' wheels done for $152 at Atlantic Motorsports on the Boulevard. They also did the road force balance which is the reason I went to them. I don't know if the price would be different for truck wheels/tires.

Hey guys, we are coming up to Virginia beach to do a college visit at Regents university next Friday. Just want to get some info on the area, What is it like, the good and the bad? How is the crime rate? Any areas to avoid, or good see? Anyone know or went to Regents, what do you have to say about it? Thanks for the info, Jeff

Every region has its good and bad areas. The area of Va Beach around Regent is ok. It's November so the oceanfront isn't that much of an attraction unless you have a wetsuit and surf.

Don't go to Hampton or Newport News unless you want to see or be involved in a shooting.

Portsmouth isn't the best part of town either. Norfolk is hipster central and lots of crime ridden areas as well.

Quite right. Not too many years ago Portsmouth had the highest murder rate per capita in the US. Things seem to have calmed down a bit in recent years though. Either the "natives" moved to other areas, got locked up, or killed each other off to the point where there wasn't anyone left to shoot or be shot at.

Now they want to take down the Confederate veterans monuments in Portsmouth. :facepalm:What's next? Burn all the history books and any reference to anything that might offend anyone for any reason?

Thank you guys! I appreciate all the info. I'm glad to hear the area around Regents is ok. We have visited other universities and the area outside of them make you wonder "what the ....".
    Thanks again

Like others have said, every city has those areas you want to avoid. In VB it's mainly some apartment complexes and certain neighborhoods. Even certain areas of the ocean front at night can get a little sketchy, but overall it's ok down there if it's not too late. Depending on where you're staying, the Town Center area of VB has some good restaurants. A couple are pricey but some aren't. The Virginia Aquarium is in VB as well as the Military Aviation Museum in the Pungo area. There are tons of local restaurants that are far better than some of the touristy ones down at the ocean front. Wife and I like the area.

Thanks, the truck was just not loving DD duties again. I lived in NOVA for 5 years and had a little Corolla for commuting but sold it before moving here. This cost more but is so much more fun.

New guy on the forum! I live in a town called Courtland , it's past Suffolk va. Good ole Southampton county! Anyone have any experience with pungo off-road? Debating a 6 inch fabtech lift for my 2011 dbcb or just bilstein 5100 on all 4 corners and 16x9 helo rims. Any thoughts? Glad to see a Hampton roads crew on here!

@AaronArf or @rbraddock -- You guys once had or still have DB lift... Care to share your experience... As jolting and rough riding as it was...

On the Pungo store... I've heard guys have good luck there and others who have terrible work done there.
Shop around for labor prices... And then, depending on what you want done, there's probably someone on this forum who can help you out.
Shop around for those rims too... Much better prices online than you will get from any of the local off road shops.

Yea I'm definatly buying the rims off Amazon. My wife thinks the db lift is over kill but I have always wanted a jacked up truck lol. My thing is if I do a full 3 inch lift then it will cost me around the same as buying the fabtech lift minus rims and tires. I'm so torn
