Same reasons here, ACLB is my favorite truck configuration. Kinda bummed I can't a V6 manual trans in the Offroad version...or even in the SR. Only in the Sport, which is ok, but I want that locker of the OR. Or start with the SR and build my own version. The sport has either too much that I don't need or not enough what I need, depending on how you look at.

Toyota said they are keeping the MT's because of offroad guys like them, but not to offer it in the perfect single dude platform, the ACLB OR, is kinda lame. :(

Well stated and precisely why I'm on the fence, actually holding off, buying. :-(

Canada does get the ACLB OR MT...so it does exist.

Could buy a Sport then add a locker, shouldn't have to do that though...damn you Toyota! :)

Rather start off with a SR and do my own suspension and lockers, they won't even let you do that. Really don't want an auto.

wow, there's actually people that think like I do, wow, haha. yes I'm on the fence about buying the 16' since they precisely don't offer the TRD OR MT. Either I will get the 16' SR AC 5MT 4x4 or I'll wait and see if they offer the TRD OR MT 4x4 next year. I've sent a letter to Toyota asking them to bring back, since the Gen 2 was the last it was offered. I personally can't justify $32k for a 4x4 trd sport, when I can get a 4x4 5MT SR AC for $25k that does the same thing with 1 less gear, -119HP and -85 lbft tq.

That's what I did as well, reminding Toyota that they were already building AC OR MT for Canada could we please get it too, if not now at least for 2017? And if not the OR at least offer the AC SR5 (V6) with a manual. Maybe if enough of us pester them......

Yeah, I think we are dying breed, though why offer it in Canada and not here...guess those Canucks have a little more testosterone than us Yanks. :D

I have considered the 4 banger, however mpg is the same...and for roughly $1000 more you can get the V6. Why they don't offer the V6 MT in the SR is beyond me. The website wouldn't even let me build a V6 Auto, yet lists that is available on the first page of the build. If you could get the price point in around $26-27K, that gives extra cash for aftermarket, instead of buying the Sport for $32-33K. I don't care for the TRD OR suspension, I can build it better on my own.

DAMN! Looks good with those wheels.

Getting my second Tacomas Acc cab in roughly two months. Ordered a few days ago. Off Road and tow packages, in black. Configured just like my '14. Almost went for a DCSB, decided Acc cab saves me a few bucks, and never need back seats in my car now. Plus longer bed will be nicer to use with a camper top to sleep in lol.

All my life I've owned and driven MT. In my '02 SR5 Extended cab 4x4 2.7l MT, it IS the ticket. And Its especially the ticket with the trailer; a 15' 2200lb A-Frame Chalet trailer. Ive actually made peace with myself ordering the '16 AC OR 6Cyl AT. Giving up the MT, I WANT the AC OR, NOT a passenger cab. Period. . I actually drove the '16 MT in a AC Sport, and frankly did NOT think that greatly of it. Moral od the story, set your priorities, make your decisions, and be happy! For me the hardest part is selling my '02. But ya only live once, and I AM older. Time to have something new, and see how good I can make it work. I do NOT put down ANYONE for the decisions they make. KUDOS to everyone!. Delivery is end of December, and I am DONE waffling on this decision! LOL.

2016 Inferno 4x4 AC TRD OR
Inferno was my second choice, but it was what my dealer got the fastest, so I bought it. I've had this one for a couple of weeks now. It has about 210 miles on it. Like the others here, I didn't want the shorty bed. I sleep in the back of my truck when I'm out camping sometimes and I need the 6' bed (I'm 6'2).

We need as many people as possible that are interested to email Toyota and go to dealers asking for this build so it can happen.

Wow the inferno color looks good! And I've seen some people hate the black overfenders, but I like them. More protective for Off Road.

I know, I like the black fender flairs, and the cheese grater grill. The flairs should stay better looking, than the painted version, especially if you're like me and drive down a lot of gravel roads.

What are they made out of, plastic? or fiberglass like the 04 and earlier?

I'm not sure, but I imagine it's just a hard plastic. To me that means they dont rust, and I feel like that's a common spot for body rust.
