I don't want to remove the needles because I hear it's a serious PITA to get them back on calibrated properly

I'm not gonna remove them. I am just gonna carefully color on them while they're attached. Haha

Don't you have to get the yellow paint(?) off first?

I'm sure. I'll just do my best to scrape it off.

I haven't been able to test it yet but theoretically I figure you could take a q-tip and some nail polish remover to the needles.

I am in the process of changing mine to led's as well but I am stuck at unplugging the wires on the black trim which goes around the cluster itself. The rear locker, hazard lights switch etc. Do you recall how you went about unplugging all those wires b/c I am having trouble getting mine separated without breaking anything ....
    thanks

    HID PHILLIPS LIGHTS,
Carefully reach back with pliers or one hand on top and one on bottom and pull apart , very tricky. Really tight spot. That should do it

Alright thanks man. I'm gonna give it another go this weekend when I'll have more time. Hopefully I'll be able to get them out this time, damn things didn't seem to want to budge last time. But thanks again

Thanks I found them right after I wrote that and ordered. What overlay do you have? Seems like I've seen it before but can't remember where.

Here is my gauge cluster and A/C Swap. Yes I got a 02 4Runner HVAC unit since my 04 Tacoma had that orange crap behind the HVAC panel.

The first picture is what would happen if you wanted to try to attempt to scrape that orange crap out of their. And yes I have to get the cigarette lighter changed to blue and a Kenwood aftermarket stereo would provide the blue instead of the orange stock stereo unit

I know this is old, but where did you get the 4runner panel from?
