    From an old Hoosier;

    It's been 23 years since, but I used to race hare scrambles at Haspin Acres. It was a rutted out mud hole then. (If you were on a dirt bike, anyway....) One of these days, I'll go back, just to see what it's like now days. If there's ever an Indiana group gathered up to go there, let me know (PM me)

    It is still storied as a mud hole. An old man I used to work with said you either needed a minimum of 40" tires or great recovery gear.

    I wouldn't want to hit any massive trails with my truck set up the way it currently is, or with my daughter...lol. But I wouldn't mind riding around and checking out the sights. I would also like to go with someone who has been there, because it looked really, really unorganized and chaotic and there wasn't even a lot of people there....

    I'll just say this.....From your description, it's still the same Haspin Acres it was in 1992 when I was there last. "Unorganized and chaotic"......You nailed it.

    I'm wanting to go check out REDBIRD in Linton Indiana. It's a state owned off road area.

    A lot of "family" lives close to there. Sadly, all of 'em that wheel drive Jeeps, but I'm not going to hold that against 'em...

    just moved to Indianapolis 4 months ago, been looking for a good 4x4 shop that can install lift kits and do alignments on our trucks. I am from Texas, and there is many good shops there that do great work at good prices, but can not find that here in Indy area. Can any one point me to a good shop?

    Hello my fellow Hoosiers. I don't want to threadjack, but I haven't had luck elsewhere. Do any of you have / know of anybody who has some front bucket seats / center console. I'm knee-deep in a long build / restoration and am getting no leads elsewhere.

    Again, sorry to go off-topic on the sign-in page, but I figured it'd be a good place to check. Please PM me to eliminate follow-up off-topic posts in this thread. Thanks!

    Rode dirt bikes out there this past summer. I'm a newbie to the area, originally from PA where we ride mountain trails and old coal mines. It is a rutted out, chaotic mud hole with no trail markings. We had a decent time on dirt bikes but I would never take my truck anywhere back there. Also, don't go on a busy holiday weekend. People drinking and driving everywhere. I'm all for having a good time, but when every RZR, yota and jeep has a cooler full of beer in the bed I start to get a little nervous. I was almost hit a few times. I've seen jeeps get so burried there that mud sludge starts rolling in over the windows and it gets completely sunk. People just let them sit in the woods and never come back for them! It can be a great people watching experience that's for sure.

    Back in the late '80's, I went trail riding with a couple friends I raced Hare Scrambles with. It was just outside of Tarentum Pa. It was home to the Lojak family......brothers that were some of the most competitive natured, hardest riding dirt bikers you'd ever want to know. Eddy was the best of the clan. I understand he's a building contractor in the Tarentum area now days.

    PA is really full of some hardcore riders and there's tons of great places to ride! Not much in between Philly and the Burg! I miss its beauty!

    I don't think the OP posts here anymore. He's from columbus. I stop in all the time on my way to Columbia city from south carolina. Have friends there and in bloomington where I grew up.
