I'm tired of all these reviews showing Colorado/Canyon superior

As far as wifi, my phone will run 5 devices, for free...just uses data, which doesn't matter for us as I am still grandfathered into an unlimited plan. so...boom.

F250 and the Titan XD do share some of the front end cues. Nissan admitted they took styling cues from the HD lineups of the other manufacturers which is smart because that should be a safe bet.

I've heard the Titan XD Cummins is using an Aisin Warner trans, so there is some Toyota in that truck too.

You are right on. They are certainly easier to change and on every metric, disk brakes are superior.

The only reason the '16 Tacoma does not have them, is because they cost more. Cost more to change an existing part and cost more to produce.Period. There is no other justification.

The product managers excuse was pure smoke. "drum brakes superior off road" Right... How come not on the front then. The truth is...
-he had a limited budget. I would bet that the expense of frame replacements on the earlier models put significant heat on the profitability of the '16.

Same company that brings the Wrangler. Best off road, and highest resale of any vehicle.

Diesel is a really good option and great fuel economy. To be honest the first midsize diesel in a range I can afford is going to get a hard look. I did not go diesel in my recent purchase was I don't need full size.

Consensus at last. That 1794 was fairly hideous, especially the wheels they stole from a Thunderbird.

Meh, I'd be excited about Diesel if the cost of the emissions system didn't eat up the mpg gain for several years and the emissions system didn't mess with reliability.

The Pr. Rupert Chrysler Jeep dealer has a 2014 4 Door Wrangler still unsold last time I looked. They do look nice though and funky but they don't come with a mechanic and a tool box full of parts.

I just updated the other thread on the Diesel...

    2WD: 22 / 31 / 25 combined
    4WD: 20 / 29 / 23 combined

    Autonews.com reporter just tweeted:

    Richard Truett ‏@RichSTruett
#GMC Canyon diesel EPA rated at 31 mpg highway -- best of any truck on the road.
    11:10 AM - 9 Nov 2015 · Details

And the official announcement from Chevrolet...

    http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us.../Pages/news/us/en/2015/nov/1109-colorado.html

DETROIT – Chevrolet today confirmed that the 2016 Colorado two-wheel drive with the Duramax turbo-diesel will be the most fuel efficient pickup in America, offering an Environmental Protection Agency-estimated 31 mpg highway fuel economy.

The EPA-estimated highway fuel economy for 2016 Colorado four-wheel drive diesel is 29 mpg.

Terrific news other than the cost difference between the gas truck and the Diesel will mean you will have to be a high miler to even begin to make it pay and when the diesel engine craps out your wallet will open. Diesel fuel here is higher than our gas.

The move though will be a game changer.

Hmmm, those are a bit disappointing. I'd expect the Colorado to get at least 27 mpg combined IRL on the 4WD. Hopefully like some other EPA ratings on Diesel this one is low.

Think about it, on paper that's a 3 mpg difference. Figure out how many years that will take to pay back . Like I said, it better be better than that. Oh, and before someone here goes on and on about the reviewer getting 30 mpg read all of their articles. They did not measure fuel economy. That was just what the computer said after some very short test drives.

I think a lot of people feel that way that even though it is not built in the US the final money goes to a US company.....who took a bailout therefore is owned by the government and by proxy owned by the people. So it is reinvestment.

Funny, the Diesel fanboys did the same thing to the Colorado as what the Tacoma fanboys did to the 2GR. Every one who wanted a 2016 swore it was going to touch 30 mpg. It didn't everyone who wants a Diesel swore the Colorado was going to push 40 mpg. It didn't. I don't know where people get these imaginary numbers from. It's still a truck pushing a lot of air.

I've got a '13 F350 with the 6.7 PSD. That thing is a beast, hauls my camper up the mountains like its not even there so I'm sold on diesels for sure. I've driven diesel land cruisers and hilux overseas for years and if they were available here I'd probably give them a serious look but thats not going to happen any time soon.

I'm definitely going to at least look at the Nissan Titan when it comes out.

I'm not sure whether this talking about the Tacoma upsets him, or if he is generally a Hothead.

My response: I'm not the best looking guy, but even my wife would not call me troll.
Dude, we are having a discussion here on this thread. I'm sure you've learned something. If you don't want to hear about any deficiencies in your machine don't tune in to my thread. Maybe you could start a club in your town and just insist that nobody says anything bad.

Yes, it is true that no one has come up with a competitive "win" for the Tacoma against the "twins". For some like yourself, it doesn't matter, because you are fully dug in, no evidence or facts will change your mind. That kind of thinking will help the '16 Tacoma do well.

I've finally bought my baby, a wonderful TRD (sport, pro) or some such.... The problem is not toyota's vehicle folks. It's that GMC (like Paris stopping for Papparatzi's). Has given critics new material. They've given them something new and exciting to write about. Is there truck better?? I just bet 50,000$ that it is not. More modernized, yes, I mean come one Toyota I'm going back to turning my lights on and off....

I did SO much with my Chev. I can't count how many times I was told my un-modded Z71 didn't have what it takes to run a certain trail.... Driver's it seems count for something in this equation. I will give you all an honest comparison in weeks to come.

Yeah, I too was expecting higher numbers... but that is good enough for me. I have to take into account the amount of towing that I do. Gas engines take a big hit when towing... so there I also expect the diesel to do much better...

But man do I still have the hots for that 4x4 TRD Off Road in Inferno... just downloaded a few photos from the Inferno thread today, lol...

Hasn't the US Gov't been paid back from the funding provided back in the day. It is my understanding the Gov'y of Canada and the Province of Ontario have both been repaid via stock re-purchase.
