Oregon and Washington BS thread

Anybody in the Portland-ish area a duck/upland bird hunter? I havnt hunted since moving here and would love to pick somebodys brain about areas and al if willing. Just need basics with all the unknowns I have here.

I get a really good deal on a variety of beers if you want to chat! Even have a garage and tools and plenty of wrenchjg experience

 

I don't bird hunt, but ifish.net is a great forum, tons of PDX waterfowl and upland hunters on there.

Found some good puddles near Sol Duc hotsprings on my very wet camping trip this weekend on the peninsula! Ran around on a FS road for a few hours.

 

Looks like a trip to Tahuya is in order for @CASHORT ...

 

Lemme get some sliders and I'm ready!

Yeah you're right on that haha rather have a snorkel than sliders for Tahuya in fall

Funny thing is that I have a snorkel and the deck plate mod but haven't ventured into the puddles there in MY truck (other holes to seal first), but did so in a FJ as passenger with GoPro: wave of water over the hood ->

 

Guys I have a TAR question. So my 4tunner desperately needs tires, and I want to sell it so I don't want to hear the whole "I gotta spend $1000 on tires" when I'm selling it. So I have my eyes on a set of 3 285/75/16 durarracs with 50% tread for $200. The problem is what do I do about the 4th? Worth buying a new one? Or should I buy them and hold out for a used one? I just don't know if it's common to find 1 used tire...

 

How many times do we need to tell you... Put your duratracs on that and get 35's!!

I would wait for a set of four to pop up. 3 used one and 1 new one is just an odd mix...especially since you are buying them now. Be one thing if you have driven those tires to 50% but if i were buyying the 4runner and it had 3 50% and 1 newer one id be questioning the guy

 

Anyone know of a good trail near Vancouver Wa? Want to take a buddy out and have him drive. He's from Wisconsin and hasn't wheeled anything but flats.

 

at what depth are you guys normally replacing tires? I'm at 8/32 and I know it's not connecting as well offroad and gets more interesting in the wet
