Everyone's taste is completely different. I far prefer the Tacoma front end to the 4Runner, like the redesign from the first time I saw it. Far nicer than my 2006 IMO.

I prefer the subtly of the embossed tailgate and there's a lot of people loving the vinyl inserts. I didn't like the TRD Sport 4x4 decals, others leave those and yet others remove all the badges. I like a bit of chrome, others cover everything.

If you try to appease everyone you wind up appealing to no one! Toyota did a great job maintaining the Tacoma persona while updating the looks and functionality into this decade. The rate at which vehicles are changing these days, and really how tastes change, my guess is we will definitely see updates more often to the Tacoma than in the past.

You mean the 4 runner doesn't have the damn near same headlights as the new Taco?

I personally like the look now. Not how I would have designed it but it has grown on me and looks less goofy in person. We are gonna be seeing this design on showroom floors for another decade probably. It will look pretty normal to people soon if it does not already.

Sorry but that thing is crazy ugly with that grill. Ascetically I have two things.
    1. Front of the truck
    2. Radio surrounding with color accents. Not sure who had that idea but by God, dumbest shit ever. In couple years its going to look even uglier. Color accents inside the vehicle were never popular, not sure what Toyota designer was thinking.

On the right track with this front end. Jump off the rails somewhere down the line though.

I've never owned a Tacoma and I still haven't bought my 16 yet. But I much prefer the 3rd gen design over the 2nd. Especially when you see the two side by side. But I can see why 2nd gen owners are having a hard time with it.

yea I was more going for the "nose" being the grill, agreed on under bite but some of the guys have plasti dipped the chrome grill and it looks 20 times better than that random lower stick out being by itself.

I'd take the 2016 if it had the 2015 front end and pro grille

Honestly when we bought our '16, we damn near bought a 2015 for about $2k less. Looking at the trucks side by side is what really made our choice. We had a clear choice of either truck so it came down to the details. The front end was a non-issue in the decision factor being it's not even half as bad as folks are making it out to be.

I agree, the Pro Grille is pretty bad ass, but the SR/SR5 grill isn't far off from the design of it.

2 of the biggest things was interior design (we felt the 3rd gen was years beyond what the 2015 offered and the shape of the fender wells. I actually loved the look of the 2015, but I hated the way fenders curved into an angled drop off. Makes the tires look squished. I also wasn't a fan of the black piping on the white/white fender flairs whereas the 3rd gen flows seamlessly. Tailgate design was a major plus also. Love the embossed Tacoma logo and the whole design on the gate. Figured if we're going to spend the money, why not jump into the next generation of trucks. Little things like this lead us to the 3rd gen and glad I made the decision.

I picked mine up today, less than 100 miles on it and I like mine also. Not as quiet as the Colorado I traded in but I'll take the road noise over a GM product any day.

    Bow-ties are for little boy's!

It's. A. Truck. It's not a friggin glamor item. Bloody hell. Anybody that won't buy a truck because it doesn't "look right".......well, they shouldn't be buying a truck. Maybe a VW Cabriolet? WTF.
