Well, it will be 6 years old in a couple more weeks, but the odometer passed 80,000 this week, so I figured now was a good time to list only issues this near-perfect Off Road TRD truck has had!

This is my third Tacoma, the third 4WD Off Road, the second double cab, and the most amazing of the three. However, it is also getting the fewest miles driven (thanks to the crappy economy).

My previous Tacomas were a 2001 Xtra Cab and a 2005 Double Cab. The 2001 would get my vote as being the best if it weren't for the amazing 4WD enhancement features that became standard in 2009 (TRAC and A-TRAC). The 2001 was the most trouble-free and it had the most miles in 5 years of the three.

The 2001 only had a water pump replaced (at 90,000 mi) other than normal wear items replaced such as brakes and timing belt. The pump didn't fail but just was seen dripping, when they replaced the timing belt. I put 136,000 miles on it in less than 5 years.

The 2005 had ABS brake and brake pad noise issues, it had too soft rear suspension issues, and had the "clock-spring" cable fail (causes air bag light to go on).

The brake noise went away with the first new brake pads installed. The ABS not stopping the truck on wet or dirt roads was told to me at the dealer as being 'normal' (yet the 2010 stops fine?). The cable in the steering wheel fail has a TSB now, but cost me hundreds then. The soft springs has a TSB now, but my dealer wouldn't help, so I installed Ride Rites and 5100s on the rear. I put 102,000 miles on it in just over 4 years.

The 2010 (so far) has had:
    * the water pump replaced (a drip was noticed),
** the A/C blower resistor connection fail (wiggle to work/ bad connection points),
*** the passenger side headlight got foggy inside and the turn signal/ daytime running light lens next to it was cracked. Both headlight assemblies replaced free, and
**** lastly the front driver's side hub/bearings fail from lack of enough grease.
I put 80,000 miles on it in just under 6 years.

My last 2 Tacoma's were awesome, my 2000 needed the windshield washer reservoir and a power steering pump, and my 2008 needed the TSB Springs and a couple light bulbs. I will be thrilled if my 2015 is as reliable as they were!

My first Tacoma was a 2011 PreRunner I bought used with 25,000 miles on it. I put another 80,000 miles on it and never did anything but replace the battery and change the oil and oil filter at recommended intervals. My second Tacoma is my current Tacoma. Bought it new in July. Only changed oil and oil filter on it, so far. It has just over 5000 miles on it now. Guess I need to rotate the tires and check my owners manual for any other maintenance issues. I did have one of my Rugged Fails blow out. Had to buy a new one. Shit happens.

You're welcome... real long term report on all the bad, not just some. The rest is all good. You have seen my trip photos and Your Tubes pulling and climbing, yes? Oh, what a feeling!
