    You still need a steering wheel controller to convert the steering wheel signals to a format the head unit can understand. Pax and metra both make one. That harness just makes it easier to hook into the factory wiring.

    Honestly, I haven't looked into it any further. The sound quality is not as good as factory on the other end but it's good enough for me for the 1 or 2 calls I take in the car each week.

    I tether and use Google maps with the satellite layer turned on, looks very good. The unit also comes with offline maps and nav program.

    OK, finally installed my Joying headunit. For my 2008 JBL system I did not need any antenna plug converter or aftermarket steering wheel controller. I used the Joying wiring harness and programmed the steering wheel controls at the headunit. It was all plug and play, works flawlessly. Ill post pics later, I used the metra dash kit, it was a pain to install, had to do a lot of trimming, but it came out almost perfect.

    @LB Taco did you just tap into the steering wheel control wires like this to make them work?

    KEY 1 to Violet-White
    KEY 2 to Yellow-Black
    GRND to white-red

    I'm hoping I can just straight wire them in and return the adapters I bought.

    Also, did you retain full functionality of the buttons? (volume/skip track/mode)

    Here's an update from my install:

    I didn't need the Antenna adapter or any harness for the steering wheel controls. I just wired in the steering wheel controls as I noted in my last post and programed them in the head unit.

    I also used a 2012+ trim kit in my 2010 which looks a lot nicer IMO.

    The unit has been great so far.

    I have the same radio in my 06. Just a warning if you use a scoche kit the volume knob is a pain and barely reachable. I will take pics to show what I mean. Radio is awesome though. Debating on trimming the bezel or just getting a new radio with touch buttons! I got the whole kit with front and rear cameras, Also I put the GPS on the of the Headunit which is magnetic and its only plastic above so nothing is really blocked from signal. Works great!!!!

    Do you need a trim kit for the 2012+ if the stock radio is removed? I'm a little confused about that...doesn't any double din receiver fit into the stock trim? Thanks
