So my taco is supposed to arrive in the next couple days and I went to the dealer to talk numbers and we were going over my build and they forgot to add in the tow package!!!! I ordered a DCTRDOR. So we are going to wait for the truck to arrive and confirm it doesn't have the tow package. If it doesn't I'm going to have to order a whole new truck and wait possibly another 2 months!

They said that it would cost them thousands to add on at the dealer. Towing package, rear bumber, upgraded alternator, TSC electronics, and sway bars.

That sux man. I'd be less than happy.

Can they use the one you ordered to dealer trade with one you'd like in your region?

I wouldn't freak. You'd be hard pressed to find a TRDOR without tow package.
Go to the Toyota site to build a Tacoma. Enter your zip. As you go through, it you'll know if tow is 'included' or not.

All the TRD´s I have seen have tow package, its almost like a forced option. However, if you did order the truck, it is possible they left it out, but doubtful. It seems someone would have called the dealer and verified, cause, really, why would you get an OR without tow package.

On the build sheet it does not say tow package anywhere and the $650 was not added in either.

man you will be better off to push them into a dealer trade at this point. My dealer found the exact truck I wanted in about 2 weeks. They went and picked it up as soon as it came off of the truck in MS and drove it back to northeast AR. Your salesman can check daily and he will know exactly when a truck is "in stock" at another dealer within "X" miles of your location. Good luck

good news is you aren't obligated to anything as long as you don't sign a Bill of Sale!

I built your truck on the Toyota site with a Westchester zip.
I noticed the tow package is only available in silver and black...

Dealers here in SoCal told me all of the V6s have the tow package. No idea if that's a region specific thing though.

I was under the impression that all OR models came with tow package. Maybe I was misinformed.

Some of the vehicles with the P&T packages (w/ or w/o JBL) end up showing the tow package included with the P&T package. You might see if it is there. There were some threads on here with people asking why they were seeing a cost of $3600ish for the P&T w/ JBL instead of $3000ish. The answer was they $650 tow package cost was lumped into the same package.

You should have negotiated a price BEFORE you ordered. You are going to get shafted. Your vehicle has arrived and they want you to pay 3000 over invoice. You say no and they mention the truck is right outside, waiting for you. You refuse and they sell it the next day to someone else.

    bad idea
