Put the mower to the street with $30 on it. (That's the price of buffalo trace). It didn't run because there was water in the tank. It sat a while and water and gas evaporated. Sell mower and enjoy the drinks. No guilt involved.

I'm not sure, but your TRD truck had 16" wheels from the factory. Someone got rid of factory wheels and installed those aftermarket wheels.

15" rubber is getting pretty scarce. Look on the marketplace for some 16" wheels. Many times you can get wheels and rubber cheaper than rubber alone.

15" tire selection is very limited for truck tires.

I like these ideas! They all have different merits. So, in summary, I should either:

    1) Give mower to needy family
    2) Give mower to mower repair dude, in exchange for a favor in the future
    3) Sell mower and get wasted

Hmmmmmmmmmm..............which to choose, which to choose.............:proposetoast:

In other news. Just found out I actually have something of value!

    For reals!

Took my violin in to have a string replaced. She recc' some other stuff on it too, which was going to total ~$100. Knowing my parents paid very little for it way back when, I questioned whether it was worth it. It's not like I'm in an orchestra earning a paycheck off of it. It's more of a, pick it up once a year or so and creak out a tune if I can remember one. So I asked her what it was worth. Let's just say it's getting it's $100 repairs done and being kept. For a long time. :D It's extremely rare that we get any good $ news these days, so all in all it was a damn good day! Although now I'll never sell it because supposedly it will continue to increase in value.

Plus it's kinda fun to creak out a tune every now and then. :D

The other night when I was playing it, Dolly tucked her face under the blanket. Not kidding.

    Good morning TW!

Been thinking about what to do with the pressure washer for winter.

Unfortunately, it just recently occurred to me that it's been given ethanol fuel it's whole life, with no stabilizer, nor have we ever drained the fuel when not running it for long periods. Oops.

It has occasionally given us a tough time starting, but it's never not started thank goodness. Wondering if maybe it's sustained some minor damage already from that damn crappy fuel.......:rant:and our lack of proper maintenance

Anyway - wanting to take better care of it from here on! :)

So as it sits now, it's full with ethanol fuel that was probably put in it ~2 months ago. It will not be used again til spring. It lives in a covered space that is exposed to the open air.

What do you guys recc? Start it and let it run dry of fuel? Add a few drops of fuel stabilizer to the fuel that's already in the machine? Dump that fuel out somehow and fill it with new non ethanol fuel to sit over the winter? Pretty sure we're supposed to keep it full of some sort of fuel when being stored.......

I want that thing to last. Would appreciate any and all suggestions - please and thank you TW peeps! :D

I do things a little differently...I START with ethanol free fuel at the pump, and add stabil when I fill the can...all but the premix for the twostroke. Those get the little plastic shots of oil instead, into a dedicated can.

In a perfect world id get all that ethanol fuel outta there. Lettin ethanol fuel set over the winter is where youll really notice the effects of its crappy nature. Put that old fuel into your taco or the new car. But in all honesty itll pry be fine as long as you use some stabil or seafoam or something similar and fill that bitch to the top to minimize any air in the tank, that creates a void in there and then the condensation starts happening. Then the ethanol (being alcohol )will mix with the condesated water then its totally invited to mix into the rest of the fuel. Try and start it a few times throughout the winter, thatll help with any potential issues. That should be done with or without good gas in it, but especially if ya keep the ethanol in there. On another note ( im sure you guys know this already since youve had it for a few years) but dont let the water freeze up thats left in the system! Drain it good or put a squirt of RV antifreeze in there.

In the future though....NO ETHANOL IN YOUR SMALL ENGINES!!!

Fire it up and send it down the street,,set it free!. Problem solved.

Violins playing a sad song as it ghost drives off.

You get 6-10 months of good life with Ethanol loaded gas in a tightly sealed FULL container kept in a dark spot with no sunlight on the fuel jug. The voids and sunlight create moisture in the jug as a byproduct of Ethanol being a good sponge. Any voids in jug or tank with rapid weather changes around and you will get moisture in the fuel in a short period of time.

Ethanol gas also does a number on spark plugs, as raw fuel usually sits on those after shutdown. The pressure washer might just need a new sparker Jen. A splash of Stabil in the full tank,, cap it,,give it a good shake, and fire it up with water going thru the pump to cool that. Throw some insulation around the pump and get as much water out of it as you can pump out so the residual water doesn't freeze and crack the pressure wash pump. Would be more worried about that if it is left out in the open air elements.

Good gas (without Ethanol), you can get 2-3 years of good life and in some cases more than that.

    :sadviolin:

    The bad news:

Violin repair place called yesterday. Um, yeah. That high value she nonchalantly threw at me for it Monday? Out the window. She noticed a small crack forming on the back of it along a seam. :(

    :sadviolin::sadviolin:

    The worse news:

To properly repair said crack, it would cost more than the nonchalantly thrown out value figure. A lot more. Like, a lot, lot, lot more.:pout:

    The better news:

Didn't feel great about having it worked on there in the first place (kinda a generic music store), they just happened to be convenient and open at the time. So instead of having them do anything, I got it back and took it to a place that specializes in violins. Although they agreed that the crack is bad news and not worth the cost of disassembling the entire violin to properly repair it, they thought it might keep on keeping on with the crack anyway, so they are going to do some basics to spiff it up for a more reasonable cost - ahhh, that's better! :D New strings, straighten the bridge, a little glue in the crack, replacing some doohicky that didn't fit right (how's that for orchestra terminology? :D). Once all that's done, I can get back to torturing Eric & Dolly with my creaky tunes :D

So apparently we aren't sitting on a goldmine. And apparently, like Tacomas, even violins eventually wear out. :sadviolin:

But, both continue to keep on keeping on for the moment. :burnrubber: So I'm happy anyway. :) At the moment. ;)

How are you all doing out there today TW?

Thanks for the pressure washer advice guys!! Going to address it this weekend I think! And we found a Habitat for Humanity Restore that will take the old mower, hurray! :) Good cause, tax donation receipt - win win! :)

Find that Stradivarius #5 (fifth one built and Antonio's personal master tuner he kept). Can you say, retire comfortably!!. Lost during the war it's rumored. The one knucklehead on Storage Wars found a old small student violin in a storage locker. Quoted way to low I thought, and it needed restoration.

    Hi all!!

Got all the small engines taken care of today, woo hoo!! Drained all ethanol fuel and refilled with non ethanol - pressure washer, weedeater, chainsaw, and of course the new Honda baby already had the non ethanol in her. All are starting and running nicely. Hurray! :) Didn't feel like risking pouring that odd concoction of fuels into the Taco or Civ, so off to Metro hazardous waste it went. For some silly reason, I'm just not in any mood to play games and take chances with fuel related anything with the Taco. ;)

Got the old mower dropped off at local Habitat for Humanity Restore. :)

Installing a new programmable thermostat now, since we already have drywall taken down on the wall behind where the old one resided. When it comes to selling the house, who cares that the furnace is old, when the thermostat looks so new, right?!??! :D It's all about how it looks on the surface

Fighting a cold right now, so chicken soup's in the crockpot for dinner, and just finished feasting on banana oat bread and egg spinach cheese quiche. With orange juice. That had vanilla vodka in it. :D Creamsicles!!!!!!!! :hungry: I hear vodka helps fight colds. :D

Got word that my violin is ready to pick up, hurray!! Sounds like the repairs went fine. :)

Rocking out to some old 80's faves today - Pretenders, Talking Heads, Inxs, even Human League!! Good stuff!!:headbang: :rockband::taco::locked::jellydance::kona::broccoli::dancingbacon::bananadance:

What are you all up to, TW?

Dodging the rain downpours on parts runs,,and finishing up fixing a wiring screwup a 1993 GMC Sierra C/K 3500 Dually. This one has been a head knocker. Fixing horns and signal cancel stuff Steering wheel work and full replace headlight work. Running down partially cooked wiring, testing sensors then. Positive cable by the starter cut thru on the frame and surged some some stuff,, as it made contact intermittently. 1 frikkin back courtesy light left that requires a interior yank,,,other than that it's finished

Silver salmon on the grill,,then smeared with dill relish. Fish candy I call it. Bucket of cheesy spuds and a tall Rolling Rock to help.

    Morning TW!

What's new and exciting out there with all of you?

I'm sick of being sick. Almost better now though. Hoping today is the last day of this crud. A person can only drink so much tea and eat so much soup before they are really, really annoyed by tea and soup. Bout time for some pizza and whiskey over here!!! :D
