The adjustability of the shock is for if you are using stock coils. The 887s are already 3" longer. So compressing them into a space that is made for a shorter coil is going to make it super stiff!

When I had just the 887 coil, and 5100's set at 0", The ride was smooth but my truck was raking.

    Excuse my poor illustration skills..

I do not want to change out my springs again, so what can I do?

If you don't want to replace your springs then set them back to the 0" setting and add a spacer on top to give you the desired height. I personally like rake but I have a constant load on my truck (shell, rack, tent, etc). I also pull a boat and load a bunch of camping/hunting gear in the back so rack is required to support all that BS

    3" longer???? NOPE.
Only slightly longer resulting in more preload in addition to having a higher spring rate over the factory coils. The lift is primarily coming from the spring rate and not the length of the coil.

The worst thing that can happen is coil bind followed by the lower spring seat failing.

May not be 3" longer but im not so sure that spring rate gives you lift? I think lift gives you lift but hey what do i know.... :anonymous:

The stock coils are 355mm and the 887s are 400mm. A difference of 45 mm which is about 1.8".... so not 3" my mistake. Stock spring rate is 540lb and the 887s are 590lb.

    Probably a lot less.

    Like 2-2.25".

They're not meant for heavy weight. Should get 886s and spacers IMO.

    Probably 2.5" I would guess.

I assume at that weight you're running a synthetic winch line?

How much does the steel cable weigh in the winch? Is that included in the 110 lb estimate?
