Collinite 845 or 476

Has anyone used collinite waxes? How much longer does the collinite 476 double wax compare to the 845 insulator wax? I heared the 476 is hard to work with and the 845 is alot easier.

I just did my truck in 476, not the easiest stuff to work with but not all that hard.

 

Any advice on application/removal? I'll be working by hand. What, in particular, was not easy about it?

 

Even though I have a PC 7424 I still did it by hand, its really not any different than any other wax just a little harder to buff off after it hazes, you will be fine.

 

Good deal. I put down a coat of 845 this week but I've been curious about the 476. Sounds rocks solid. I've been using Megs ULW for several months but decided to switch it up for the winter. Looking forward to comparing the 476 to the 845/ULW.

I saw in a couple posts on autogeek that the 476 doesn't stain trim. Did you find this to be the case? That was news to me.

 

I actually have never used 476 prior to right now, purpose was for a good protection during Winter. As far as staining trim, not sure because I mask everything as I go.

 

I have used both 476 is not harder to remove just put it on thin. I also use Klasse all in one and it lasts longer than 476

 

Yes, 845 is easier to work with, but 476 isn't "hard" to use.

476 is more durable, as are most pastes compared to liquids. 476 will also provide a little more depth. For customers having work done prior to the winter, I always applied 845 to white/silver vehicles and 476 to darker colors.

I use Collinite products. 845 has a very easy on and off application. I use and really like 476S also, just apply in the shade and to a somewhat cool surface. Both great stuff.

My favorite is 915. I'll use 915 and two weeks later put a coat of 476S over it.

Of course the key to a great long lasting wax is to clay the vehicle after washing and before polishing and waxing.
