Hey, I am going to be installing a LCD/DVD kit along with my audio. I wanted to get TW member feedback of where the best place would be to mount this dvd player. It needs to be at an area where my wife can get to to change the dvd for my daughter, since shes only 6 years old.

Heres the link of the dvd player that i have. I will be gettign a DNX-9140 so mounting it on the dash where the radio is out of the question.

Give me suggestions and feedback. Thanks

Thought bout it, but means my wife would have to bend down just to change a dvd... i was thinking more of an easier place to access it, maybe glove box or center console but wanted to get some ideas on how to do the mod... i have orginal ideas but i wanted to see if someone had an more awesome idea...

A hey guys title for this?

do you know if the DVD player has to be mounted horizonal or can it be mounted vertical?
If you can mount it vertically I would mount it near the dash by your wifes feet. You could try the center console. This would be the cleanest, but could require some triming since I'm not sure the there is enough clearance.

Horizontal is a little tougher. mounting under the seat won't work cause you can't get at it from the front, so wife couldn't change DVD. I would say near your wifes feet would the easiest way. but would look pretty sloppy and would be annoying for your wife. thought about is the glove compartment, but the shaking and constant up and down if it is required for a horizontal mount would be bad for it.

Really depends on how much modding you are willing to do. there is plenty of space under the council under the radio and a/c controls if you are creative enough

Haha was trying to get people to look at it... it can be mounted both ways. i had it in my jeep before mounted vertically, i thought about using that empty space below the ac, but not too sure yet..

You interested in a Tacoma meet/mod day at the beacon, date and time to be determined? The thread is titled under "low country".

if i'm not mistaken the 9140 does dual mode. you can play the video in the 9410 and display it on another monitor. i also think if you can make the movie sound on rear channels and ur music of front.

If thats the case that would be awesome. Anyone else with a 9140 care to respond and let me know? I am not worried about the sound because the lcd flip down has a built in thingy for the headphones and i got 2 of those that are in my wife car that i can steal if i need to...
