When does the dealer receive paperwork from Toyota?

My dealer called this morning and said my truck is being built and should be here in December. When will he receive the truck's description and VIN? I ordered a TRD OR AC V6 with the towing package as the only option and would like to verify that's what I'm getting.

 

I am interested in this information too. I put my order in a month ago and all I have been told is that my order has been accepted.

 

It's been 35 days since I placed my order and still know Nothing !!!!

 

Your dealer can check their inventory on dealerdaily and give you a temp VIN as long as your build was approved to be built, which it sounds like it was. The sheet he can print off for you will have the temp VIN, MSRP, options, etc. Just ask them

 

If the Toyota gods decided your order was worthy, you should have received a specific build date and temporary VIN within a week of your order being placed, along with the official equipment/build sheet if you ask for it. You should also be able to call and get updates from your dealer whenever you want. If you feel as if you’re getting jerked around, find another dealer.

 

I have a TRD OR AC V6 with tow & Prem/Tech on order. I ordered and paid deposit on Oct 8th and finally received a temp vin and build date about 2 1/2 weeks later. They were able to give me a build sheet which confirmed it was exactly as I ordered when they gave me the build date and temp vin #.

If he knows when it is scheduled for build or delivery... he should already have a temp vin. Or, maybe he is just guessing on delivery date.?

Edit: Just re-read OP - if it's being built now, I would think he would have the actual permanent VIN within a day or two.
