Please recommend a good tow strap for me

    What is a good tow strap that i can carry in my truck for pulling out others/being pulled myself. Through the little reading ive done on here i see that hooks are frowned upon, and the good straps are the ones that "stretch". Is a budget of around $100.00 doable?

    I have an ARB and a Bubba Rope. Both are great, but the ARB one OZ linked will be in your price range.

    you can get pretty good stuff down at you local auto dealer, I go to Canadian tire. They sell 10,000 lb ropes that I have seen do lots of pulling for about 20 bucks. Maybe not the best quality but they always do the trick. They have longer, shorter, heavier whatever you need.

    Thanks. How do you secure that snatch strap to the front tow hook, or the rear. I have nothing in my receiver.

    It's possible to overthink this. When used as intended, a recovery strap is subject to wear and friction. You don't want to spend so much on a strap that you're reluctant to throw it away and replace it when it's worn.

    With that in mind, the inexpensive straps from e.g. smittybilt are just fine for the job.

    For our trucks, you want a 2" 20,000 lb strap rather than a 3" 30,000 lb strap. You want it to stretch.

    20+ feet of 3/4" braided rope and learn hit to tie a bowline knot. Essentially a loop that you can adjust the size of.

    For the strap, these are great in price and really good quality that do more that get the job done. I recommend the 4" x 30' priced at $59

    I meant on the looped / clevis style , not your hook

    yea I've used it before, the hook is much easier IMO. Sometimes after a good recovery pull the clevis pin on the D-ring tightens up and is a bitch to loosen up
