I have my Kukenam mounted to a Leer 100R with Thule racks. I've never had any issues, and my rear suspension has taken some HARD hits this fall. Like, bottomed out the airbags and bent the mounts hard. I was nervous about the strength of the setup, but it's exceeded all of my expectations thus far.

That looks perfect on your truck! Love that color. Also looks super clean with the bedrack at that height. Well done.

I can get you a black cover if you want one. Seems to be a lot of people that like the grey covers so you could probably sell your grey cover pretty easily if you wanted to. LMK

Thanks Adam! I love how the rack turned out..not too shabby for two rookies who have never built a bedrack before. Or anything for that matter. I got the idea from another member who posted a Long while back, except he used square tubing I believe. So glad I went with the haze grey it compliments my truck perfectly! Thanks again for hookin me up!

Thanks man! I was super stoked to see that they sent me a black cover I just figured I was getting a grey one. But I definitely like the black cover and if I'm not mistaken the fit is a little bigger so more room to stuff things inside the tent.

So, after the launch and subsequent destruction of my last RTT and rack, I have the opportunity to redo my setup. RIP Mt. Shasta.

First, I have my previous damaged tent for sale... Price is negotiable. The cover needs a few patches and the platform side that it mounted through had both the mounting bars destroyed. The platform is still useable and the tent is otherwise in perfect working condition... But a sheet of diamond plate on either side of the floor would be necessary for re-mounting. I'd do it, but I'm in Afghanistan and I don't have the time to be messing around with repairs when I get home. Interested? It's a cvt mt Shasta. Pictures on request.

The reason I'm REALLY here... Is I had initially commissioned a shorter (and longer) than average rack to use 5' of my 6' bed and to reduce the profile. Somehow I thought I'd save myself some gas mileage. I've given up there and want a taller than average rack (i believe, I haven't measured) so that I can stick a sportbike back there for track days and not have to remove the tent. I got it for convenience! Nothing convenient about still having to use a trailer or remove the tent to take a bike anywhere.

Anyone have a set up capable of this or know someone who does? I'm concerned about overall height and CG, but having both a bike upright in the bed and my tent above it securely would be amazing.

The tent went flying because I didn't bolt the rack back in after lending the truck to a friend so he could move. Generally it wasn't a big deal to just set the tent/rack on for a few miles, but a giant gust took it off from the passenger side into the oncoming lane. Thankfully no-one was on that road but me and nobody got hurt.

That tent will be sticking a mile high in the air at all times if you want to fit a bike underneath it, not to mention the space to be able to comfortably hold the bike up underneath there while you strap it in. It could be done, but the feasability in it is lacking greatly. The other option would be a rack that moves up and down, but again not really convenient or feasible without a lot of work.

Personally i suggest you look into a hitch mounted carrier for the bike and leave the rtt mounted lower. You dont have to worry about a trailer and i would assume you arent going offroad anyways loaded with a sport bike so its not like a hitch mounted carrier is going to be an issue with clearances. Plus the carriers are easy to put on/off that it is still convenient.
