Newb question - will the vinyl adhere well to this plasti dip stuff I've read about? I'm thinking of possibly dipping the lower section of my tail gate black and then using blue vinyl to highlight the TACOMA. May also just end up keeping it all blue with the black letters. I want to play around with both if it'll even adhere though.

edit: Which blue from that list would possibly be the closest match to the '16 Tacoma Blue, if anyone knows.

I have not seen the plastidip finish in person, but I do know that the 951 requires a smooth, clean surface for maximum adhesion.

It will not stick to plasti-dip.

Forget plasti dipping the bottom of the tailgate, the vinyl letters look way nicer!!!!!

His idea sounds pretty cool. Black out the lower half while keeping the lettering the factory blue. I just don't know how he'd go about doing it.

By the decals and put them on. Then paint the lower tailgate and remove the decals.

Your truck apparently "has a Woody."

    Much better than truck nuts.

Overlooking the water streaking, this is what the plasti will look like on your MGM. Vinyl lettering would be well worth the buy, but if you're just looking to experiment for cheap, this is a way to do it. I do plan on buying lettering at a later time (otherwise I wouldn't be stealing the thread).

About to put mine on. Did you have to clean it with denatured alcohol as in the instruction or just water and soap?

A vinyl sticker template that you remove post dipping would be ideal for this. So, a reverse cut stencil cut on a vinyl cutter.. Line up, apply. Spray and peel. Done.

Silver w/black and MGM w/silver looks good, but I'm on the fence with White w/black. May try it out just to see how it looks.

Step #1. Clean with Isopropyl or denatured alcohol to clear away and wax or debris.
