Truck was paid off 2.5 years after I bought it. Currently have under $1000 to pay off on mods but that will be paid at the end of this month. Onto the next mod(s)...

Too much... also just got it a few months ago so there's that. But I'm only 22 so maybe it wasn't the best decision. It was kinda rushed, would have probably gotten an older model had I taken more time. Oh well, hopefully my adventures make it worth while.

I have less than 19K to go after 12 months. trying to pay it off quickly and with an initial 10K down payment.

All mods come as I save $$$ for them.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster in the name of making money for whoever lends you the money. Pass.

    $30k. :(

But, I'm actually pretty damn good with my money. First time I ever really splurged and I got something that retains its value and is easy to sell should I need to, in order to get out of debt. The only other debt I have is my house. Everything else, all other loans and credit cards, is completely paid off. I currently rent out my house, which covers the mortgage payment and I'm looking at my next house to buy.

Not too shabby for a 29 year old.

No Taco at this time but with 0% interest (or close) out there from TFS on several products (including my '14 T4R & '15 Camry) I'd be up for the zero down plan if I were in the market.

These results are interesting, i thought it would lean more towards the "less debt" options. I got my truck and put 8k down and financed 24k. At the time I didnt mind but I have been hating the payments now,so I am aggressively paying it down. Payments are $450/mo for 5 years, and I have been putting down $1100/mo recently. At this rate Ill have it paid off < 3 years from original start date (1/2014). Cant wait. Learning experience for the future as well.

they offered me 1.49% for the same 72 months if I opened a checking account. I passed as the amount went up only ~$2.00 more per month.

As long as rates are this low I will always borrow. In fact, I have started to save up for my next car in 7-10 years. When it's time to buy that next car, I will take that savings, put it into investments, and borrow again for the new car - as long as the rates make sense, which probably won't 10 years down the road

I will have to say that my strategy doesn't make sense if someone is afraid of the stock market. If you don't invest than you will be better off paying it down quickly. Me, I would rather keep my investments returning 10% per year and borrow money at less than 2%
