    read through this entire thread.

i JUST bought a 2013 v6 auto DCSB 4x4 TRD off road... and have a very FAINT whistling noise... like a tea kettle starting to sound on the other end of the house. at 40+ mph

is the rod / dowl / tube through the front grill seal going to fix this?

Same thing happened to me its the rubber above the grill under the hood. Easy fix is to go to homedepot and for a buck get 1/4" tubing and push it in the opening. Should fix it right away.

You'll notice the rubber is really soft. That's what causes it to whistle when you drive at about 50-60

What a relief! I had the whistle in my 2013 as well until I found this thread. I used black air line tubing left over from a fish aquarium. Fed it with a metal coat hanger through the weather stripping between the hood and grill top. I also fed it through the weather stripping above the headlights but that may have been overkill. Its been two months since and no more noise! Love the simple and cheap fixes. Thanks to those that found this and shared the fix.

God this site is awesome. Had the same problem and solved it with some 1/4" poly tubing. THanks to all that said this worked for them. It solved my problem.

So my 2015 started to make this noise. Should I just take it to the dealer to have them deal with it or diy. Happens when I go 70-80mph. I thought it was the antenna because it was only on the passenger side

So I think I figured it out . I lossened my top two grill mount bolts and scooted the grill as foward as far as possible then tightened the hell out of the bolts so the grill wouldn't move and it totally fixed the problem .. I inserted a plastic tub before hand into the rubber seal to tighten the gap but that didn't fully do it .. So I don't know if it's a combo of the two or if moving the grill foward was the fix but no more whistle here ...drove me crazy
