Hmmm, I am being "forced" to carve pumpkins this year so I have been looking for motivation.

I have the G3's. I love them. Fish a couple days every week and I've had zero problems.

Thanks for the info guys. I talked to a sales rep for cabelas. I can still return the junk waders for a refund even though they are covered in aquaseal. Pumped about that.

Orvis offers a 60 day no questions asked return policy on their waders. I think I may pick up a set of the Silver Sonics and see what happens. Im sure I can get 6 or 7 good fishing trips on them in the next 2 months.

    Totally stealing this idea.

Update. Returned the junk ass Cabelas waders no questions asked. Their awesome customer service makes up for their mediocre products.

I pulled the trigger on the Silver Sonics. Put about 3 miles on them Saturday in the cold/snow here in western PA. LOVE EM.

Got into some wild browns in a local stream Ive been wanting to fish for a while now -

Took a break from elk hunting, was on a nice 6x6 bull for three days BUT saw 3 grizzly bears on day one at 1/2 mile away and two 300+lbs griz 110yds below me on day 2. Horseback hunter saw a lone male griz in the area day 3 as well as pointed out a griz track 1/4 mile from my camp. Being solo I couldn't justify the risk of continuing to hunt the basin I was in, and the thought of quartering the bull up and returning to the meat for multiple trips gave me a case of the worries. Figure there were at least 7-8 griz in less than 3 square miles in the Gros Venture wilderness where i was, so I'd say the grizzly population is doing pretty good there!

Heres a footbow rainbow, fattest I've caught in awhile, and 20" fine spotted cutty. All caught without one worry of G-Bears.

Nice fish!! Glad you didn't have any close encounters!

Picked up a new Helios H2 9' 7wt tip flex for some salmon and steelhead! Love it, used it for some smaller Browns and can't wait for some big fish on it

Well, if they're populating your state, maybe we'll eventually get some back in California one day.

What do you guys use for wading boot studs?

I was reading and researching like I always do at 2am instead of sleeping and came across this article - http://www.hatchmag.com/blog/tip-stop-grossly-overpaying-wading-boot-studs/771153 - a while back.

I pulled the trigger on some the other day, the 1/2" #8 version. Scored 250 of em for 26$ shipped through Ebay. They showed up today and I got them installed this evening. Really lookin forward to putting some miles on them to see how they stack up. For 11 cents a pop, I dont think I can go wrong.

Waders are like hookers... You get exactly what you pay for. I had cheap ones for years... Finally found Simms on close out. Beware, there are some foreign Simms that are cheap. I think reddington is the most bang for your buck. Glad to hear that cabelas owned up to the warranty. Sadly there is never a cabelas on top of the mountain when their price point cheap junk fails and I have wet feet. They used to source some great stuff, now it is all made to "look" like quality, but it never holds up to the task. Orvis still tries, but they are re-labeling China as well. Borodin nets are available for an additional $20 if you need to see orvis on the handle.

Got out chasing some top water schooling stripers this morning with my buddy... First time I've been fly fishing since March I think!

Right off the ramp we found a school coming up... 2nd cast gets crushed but came unbuttoned. Damn trout sets... Old habits die hard!

School dropped back down but we found another group a little while later... And redemption!

Managed another small one before the topwater bite died...

Not a bad hour worth of fishing!

Nice Stripers. Up here in the Northeast they are clearing out quick. Not a great season for them but I did OK.

Got another solid day on the Orvis Silver Sonics yesterday. Super happy with them. Also, the Kold Kutter studs are working like like a dream. Highly recommend them.
