I'm aware of what my truck sounds like offroad since I have the same shit. You didn't answer my question about disappointment.

    Who is bashing?

We're discussing common issues like metal clank noises from OMEs internal metal bumpstops that have already been the subject of a dozen threads in the last 3 months and that Dakars are squeaky, which has even more threads.

Maybe turn the sensitivity down a little and read before posting.

Not bashing. Sharing my personal experience and trying to save the guy time and money because I was led to believe it would be good for off road and it was not.

So my post was quite relevant as answering the guys question.

    Your post below.

Yes. Very disappointed. But to be clear, it's the shock. The spring rate is good for the truck.

Anything other than OME won't make that noise.

I don't understand why there's still confusion on why the noise is there and what makes it happen, and what other shocks make the noise. It's literally been the entire topic for the last 2 pages now.

    Don't make it so complicated.

OME struts make the noise. They make it for a reason, they're designed to do so to prevent shock damage. Some find it annoying. Others don't.

If you might, get any other strut besides OME.

Right on. I like the OME setup and don't mind the sound, it's the second one I've had. Ultimately the terrain you're on most should dictate the type of suspension you go with. I tend to like the creepy crawly stuff more than the desert baja even though I do that to (go figure, I live in a desert) so the 886s/nitrochargers work for me.

All you've said is that you're disappointed in the shock. That doesn't say why you're disappointed with the shock. Do you have any other feedback? Because I have the OME kit (and it's not "just a leveling kit"), and I couldn't be happier with it.

My Dakars squeaked when it first got cold. Haven't noticed them since.

But I also got out and screamed, "STOP YOUR WHINING". That might have helped...

Not to sound like a jerk, but read back through this thread, or better yet, search and filter your results for my username. It's there. No need to repeat it.

I still haven't really gotten an answer I guess. For someone like me who is looking for 3 inches of lift and goes off-roading almost every weekend, are the OMEs a good choice or with the Bilstein's be better? I have a big plate bumper with a winch so I'm planning on getting something with the 886s and I pretty much never Haul or tow anything so I'm trying to stay away from the bumpy squeaky Dakar leaf pack and possibly get the All-Pro standard leaf pack. What do you guys think?
