Best things to start upgrading

I have a stock 98 and am looking to make it a little less stock. Where should I start upgrading?? suspension?? rims?? flamethrower?? I'm game for almost anything.

 

Stock 98 what? mini, prerunner, 4x4?

What do you want to do with the truck? Make it more capable offroad? Just looks?


I would start with mounting a .50cal machine gun in the bed. Never know when those pesky zombies are gonna attack....

 

If it were more off road capable that would be sweet but i'm not really sure where to start exactly. Is there anything that I really should do first, not just off-road capability but in general such as removing the secondary filter or changing , and y something else before i get really into this and yeah its a 4x4 thanks-Bob

uhhh bob, first you want to spray some salt on that frame and get like 16000 for it. than buy a new tacoma.

You known anyone actually try to spray salt on there? I heard about the recall a while back, but didnt hear anyone tryin to do that. It work?

I have a 98 Tacoma SR5 TRD, the first thing i went for was an ad a leaf in the rear and a couple months later a leveling kit because the slant made it look like a latino truck. I needed the ad a leaf because i tried to haul a load of fire wood, not a big load, just level with the bed rails, and my truck was practically on the overload spring. I was not used to that! the ad a leaf stiffened up the back end but now i can carry a good couple hundred pounds more weight and not even come close to touching the overload springs.
a month ago i had about 4 squares of shingles in my tacoma, it dropped the back a little, but still not even close to the overload spring.
