The 2016 look never bugged me, even if I think the 2nd gen front end look a bit better.

I had the opportunity to sit in a double cab and access cab at a dealer. I didn't like how the hood is higher and prevent a good vision on what's coming in on trails.

I was a bit vocal on Toyota Canada choices, and for me this is the biggest issue (mistake...). I want to buy a Tacoma, but these freaking idiots don't bring all models here. Since I want a DCSB TRD OR AT, no luck. I am forced to consider alternative, which could be sometings different than a Toyota. Maybe a Wrangler, or a 4Runner. Will see.

It's just the front end in my shitass opinion. It's a foot too long. You could hide shit in there I guess. Drugs, chicks, beer, chicks, I don't know, treat it like an old VW bug and it's a trunk?

I'm not very sensitive about the looks of a vehicle, though I do have a vague sense of the aesthetics. I'm not sure if the big grill was an attempt to make the 2016 look more 'bad ass', or whether it was an accommodation to the larger radiator, but in either event it doesn't offend me.

I'm pretty old, and my sense of what a truck should look like was formed 40 years ago, when there were no double cabs. So to me, all double cab trucks, particularly short beds, look strange. They will forever seem to me as if somebody started off designing a car, and changed their minds in the middle of the job, and stuck a bed on the end of it. But I'm sure that had I been born later, when double cabs were common, I'd think they look perfectly natural.

Some of this design by Toyota IMO is due to the fact that Pedestrian Impact Laws are going into effect soon which will have automakers complying with their designs. Since this is the new generation of vehicles, why not just start the process since it's coming down the pipeline anyway. This law has been in talks for a long while, but the ball is rolling now.

Here's an older article C&D did on the changes we'll begin to see in the automotive industry. That gap between the grill and engine is to comply with upcoming safety regulations.

Yeah DCLB's are still relatively new in the states. Been popular in other countries for a long time but sometimes they look strange to me too.

I had to be standing there when the tech screwed 2 long screws that hold the plastic license plate holder on the front bumper of my truck. I reached down after he was done and I said hell that won't stay on there long. The owner said well the front bumper is designed to fall off the truck in a 5mph accident. Just wonderful.

I wasn't impressed with the 3rd gen looks online, but in person and on the streets it looks 100% better!
I can't think of vehicle that looks so much better in reality than in pictures. Its like that ugly girl from Seinfeld

Looked at a few when I was in for service today and I'm still not sold. Did notice that mud flaps are no longer standard and the lower valance plastic under the front bumper. The life expectancy on that thing is going to be short.

    Here's a few picks of a 3 pedaler they we're prepping.

Warts "grow on people".....I never really had any serious objections to the looks. It's the rather undernourished little engine that has me thinking no way.

Only ones that are lifted and have replaced the front bumper will even have a shot at "growing on me", the rest are in the "what has been seen cannot be unseen category"............as always, that is just my opinion and everyone is welcome to their own opinion.

I still think the front end is uglier than sin. I saw them in person and the only one that looked halfway decent was the white. I also don't care for unpainted fenders on the OR models.

Oh, you have Dyno charts and factual data or are you going off "what everyone else says so it must be true?".

278HP w/265 lb. ft torque vs your 2011 with 236HP w/266 lb. ft torque. 42 more ponies and -1lb. ft pound of torque and it's undernourished and little?

And that's why 2015's are able to dust a 2016 in a side-by-side drag race. Numbers don't lie....but they often confuse the hell out of people who don't bother to look at the scoreboard when the game ends.
