Debadged Tailgate??

Im fully debadged except the trdsport sticker on the bed. I like that 1.

 

Going to de-badge and do an old school 'Toyota' emblem on the tailgate when I get back from a work trip. Hilux-style.

 

Debadged Everything but a friendly yo and added a warning to zombies everywhere!

 

I can't decide whether to remove the SR5 off the tailgate & go with some SR5 bedside stickers I have or just leave it how it is................

 

I debaged my 2011 and I love the look. I went a different route with the 13 and painted them black just to see how they look. With the way I've built my truck I like it with the contrast. Don't get me wrong... I love the clean look of a debaged vehicle and have taken the emblems off of every vehicle I've owned but thought I would give this a shot. Pretty happy with how it came out.

 

I debadged mine within the first couple weeks of owning it and plasti dipped the front Toyota emblem dark grey. I can't stand all the chrome advertisement, I know what I drive, anyone who knows much about vehicles knows what I drive..

My old Subaru was worse, all of these were bright chrome on the tailgate:

Stickers don't impress anyone. Anyone who cares what spec your truck is can tell by other ways, the hood on a Sport, the wheels on a limited or off road, etc.

Speaking of emblems... I was at Lowes the other day and I saw a new trim level of Tacoma it had crappy aftermarket 16" wheels, plastic flares, grey grill, black bumper, no fogs, regular hood, an SR5 sticker on the back and TRD Sport stickers on the side. All I could think was..... idiot, it's a base model with Pep Boys wheels, I don't know who you are fooling.

I know I have a base model and I'm fine with that, I don't need to impress anyone but my wife(who doesn't care about cars) and my boss, who only cares about production numbers and customer service.

All off, it makes the truck faster, and gets better gas milage....

 

Are you guys using the fishing line technique or heat gun? I am going to do this, but leave my Texas Edition badges on the doors...

 

Fishing line and sun shine, little bug and tar remover and your done.

 

i figured this much, as I have done it in the past just making sure these emblems are stickier than other auto makers...

 

Always debadge. Makes it easier to wax. Took the TRD Sport sticker off too. Still have to dip the chrome symbol on the front. Anybody sell anything cool to replace that front symbol?

 

I'm not really into telling other dudes what to do with their truck, but I think that Super White would look pretty sexy with that thing totally de-badged.

99.99999% of people don't know what SR5 means, anyways.

 

If it confuses others I'm leaving it. So many people nowadays display such a lack of snap that they have to be conditioned to constant confusion so a bit more won't hurt.

 

A bit of WD-40 helps the fishin line out and also will do same thing as bug/tar remover to get leftover adhesive off.

Fishing line or dental floss, heat gun, claybar, soap and water, then some wax or quick detailer. Do not use any hard tools to pry off the badge, just be patient and use heat to your advantage.

 

Break off the MA and leave TACO I had mine like that for a while then took everything off

Really ? Maybe since I only scene it once on another tacoma here in San Diego
