No build thread yet. I still have a few things I want to do to my truck before I think it's build thread worthy.

How do you like the seat covers??? Looking at the same ones. Fit well and install pretty well?

I love them. I notice imperfections in the fit but nobody else seems too. Install was simple but they're a tight squeeze. For the price you can't beat em.

I thought they were original covers until you pointed out they weren't. They fit really nicely.

Got the front diff sorted. The breather popped off the top of the diff leaving it open to fill up with water. Probably leaked back out the same way. When I took the fill cap out to check the level it had a lot of pressure behind it... that thing was way over full! Put the breather tube back on and all is well so far.

The diff oil was like pudding. Took over an hour to drain out completely.

Going a different route with lighting. My Prinsu mount for 50" light bar is for sale. $75 CAD + shipping.

The big 50" light bar is gone. Sad day indeed. Still have the mounts if anyone is interested.

Just filled up again. 12.9mpg this time. It looks like the supercharger costs me 1-2mpg (~10%).

The SC is alright. It's nice to get some power back, but I'm not sure it was worth the price tag. I'm hoping the URD smaller pulley and maybe some headers wake it up a bit more.

I did something irresponsible today and bought a used alpine ine-z928hd. Seemed like a good opportunity to replace my stock radio (broken bluetooth) with something a little better without totally breaking the bank. Pretty excited to get it in the mail!

Awesome thread. Just spent the last hour going through it.

I am buying my first Tacoma in the next few weeks and I plan on using it in the Kelowna area back country. I presently have a 93 4Runner that I am selling and have my eyes on a 2005 Tacoma.

The 2005 has a levelling kit installed but I may want to install some new coil overs. I'm trying to do some research on here to find out the best idea for the front suspension. Any tips would be great.

    Thanks for sharing your build.

Thanks for the compliment! As for your suspension, what are your plans for extra weight? Heavy skids, bumper, winch, etc. would change what you need. Double cab or access cab?

Double cab, has an ARB front bumper already and I will be adding a winch at sometime. I am not sure about skids at this time but maybe in the future.

Sounds like OME coilovers with 886 springs would be a good idea! That's what I run and they're the best bang for your buck. They don't compare to kings or ADS, etc, but neither does the price tag. Get the taco lean spacer with them too. Tacos are a little heavier on the drivers side so they put a small (1/4"?) Spacer in to compensate.

I got mine from toytec and paid extra for them to be pre assembled. Totally worth it and makes it a driveway bolt on project. I'm not sure if toytec is still the best price with the way our dollar has shifted so you may want to check with Canadian retailers too.

Also look into UCAs. I have the icon uniball ones, but I learned later that other companies use stainless uniballs which would be a little better.

to make you feel a little better....magnuson (manufacturer of TRD S/C) will be releasing their 4.0L S/C in a few months..some slight tweaks especially appearance...but speaking with them last week, the price tag will be higher than what Toyota was selling their's at...
