well, I'm a far cry from being even a halfway decent carpenter, but I had fun building a new coffee table this weekend.

wife and I found an old barn door at a little antique market a few weeks ago. we left all of the hardware on the door, and gave it a clear matte seal. not worried about damaging the table with food and drinks, as it's obviously been able to withstand the elements for a long time. just don't want a bunch of condensation rings.

lightly stained some No. 1 grade 4''x4''s with a mild red stain.

then, because I couldn't keep my hands off the new band saw, I cut some bar stock to cross brace the legs, and then ran a turnbuckle and some other fun looking hardware between the braces. finished it all of with some copper hardware, and the wife is happy.....

well anyway...........found a nice 07 in Va. we went down real early in the am to check it out, agreed on a deal, then drove the 2 hours from Marshall Va last Saturday , in the rain,(with 4 extra mounted tires in the bed) no problems. get my Md inspection today, get all my paperwork etc. seller signed off in the wrong area on the title, surprisingly, they were good with that.so I went to my buddy Dan's body shop to get an estimate on some work, he was busy, so I headed home as I had a doctors appt. On the way home, I got off onto an exit ramp, it's raining, I touch the throttle (there aint no tires in the bed no mo) and I do a 360 in the ramp and slide off into the ditch. Are you f-in kidding me? oh, did I happen to mention, it was in front of a guy driving a ...Tacoma!! nice guy, sorry I forgot yer name as I had made "spin-art" of my skivvies!

oh, and i'm a newb to this brand.

but I drove outta the ditch, with no damage......except to my psyche.
