Thanks to this website, I was able to build my own speaker box for the first time ever. I was planing on buying a box but none was to my taste unless I go custom.

Here's what I came up with. The amp is just temporary until I get two to fit in that place. I'm not sure I'm keeping the plexiglass board yet. It was a test to mount the temp amp. I have a bunch of pictures but i'll post a few unless you guys want to see more.

You matched the box sides to the contours of the storage box. Well done!

Is that just an 8in sub? What's the airspace and max sub mounting depth that your box allows?

Very nicely done. Two thumbs up. Would love to see some measurements too.

Having the outside pieces follow the contour of the storage bins plastic is a very nice touch and my runaway OCD likes it, too. Lol.

As far as the piece you are mounting the amp to, why not space it off what it's mounting to (over) and drill holes in the plexiglass to route the wires to and hide the wires behind the plexiglass plate. Would look cleaner. Good job overall for sure.

It's a 10" sub. The minimum air space for this sub was calling for 0.5 cubic feet. My box came up to 0.95 minus the cutout for the cross bar on the back so I know it's less than 0.95
The bottom of the box is 7" deep with 1/2" walls so the inside is 6" but it gets tighter as you go up with the angle.
My sub is 9-1/2" cutout diameter by 3-3/8" deep.

Thanks, i'm happy with the way it looks and sound even with the temp amp.

The amp in the picture is temporary. I'm planing on drilling holes to the plexiglass to route the wires for a clean look once I get the right amps. Also, i'm not sure i'll use the plxiglass as i'm still looking for ideas to mount the amps.

I'll post a picture of the box measurements in a bit. Thanks!

That's wicked, thanks for sharing your measurements. Clean work. How much depth did you end up having for the sub?

The sub itself is 3-3/8" deep. I can't measure the inside while the speaker is mounted but according to my drawing, there's about an inch from top of magnet to the back of the box and about 2-1/4" on bottom. I don't think there's room for a 12" sub with this design because it'll hit against the rear cutout for the cross bar.

You can definitely stretch some of those dimension, the bottom can easily go to 8 and the top around 4

Sure you can. I thought about it but my plan was to stay inside the plastic covers for a clean look.

right, makes sense... but imo, if you dress a full box up nicely, carpet it all it will look super clean as well but besides that, its behind the seat. How often is that area exposed

Will this fit the '16 model? I heard that some '05-15 units will not fit the '16 models because of cab vents.

Sorry, I'm not sure what the '16 models look like behind the rear bench.
