    front air dam does the most to affect mpg

    next, are the removal of mud flaps

    and then bubble-shaped headlights and the shape of the side mirrors

    of the 4 above not sure which is tops but the air dam is all about mpg


    check around other truck vendors, they all have optional air dams now

    If it does that, I may have to do this on my truck. Or maybe get my hands on some of the OEM ones from a '16 and retrofit them to my rig.

    Thanks. At least replace it with something smaller, if possible, without affecting mpg. I drive it to work everyday.

    TRD Pro grille & skid, OEM tonneau and roof racks
    From one of the chief engineer's on the tacoma, he told me it was added to reduce wind noise (NVH) not MPG.

    The mirror fins, the tailgate fin and the front air dam are for MPG. The weatherstripping and covering up holes in doors is for NVH.

    are you talking about making the air dam smaller but not affecting MPG ?



    no you can't make it smaller without losing mpg. you could add to it to increase mpg further

    The 2nd gens come with little tire air dams. I took mine off, tires rubbed them.
