I like theses. Urn wish he has spent more time fitting them to a 1st gen. It looks like he just retro fitted the 2nd gen design on our trucks. It tips backwards..and doesn't follow the lines of the roof as well as the 2nd gen one does.

Still. Not a bad option. Just think it could be a bit better. Keeps me from getting one.

I'd like one for the DC - but it will probably be a couple years for me anyway. I'm waiting to see what you do with Igor.

Rear bumper all the way. I have never head the need to carry stuff on the roof, not would I want to add much weight up high.

    Very true. Its tough,
    Pros to roof rack.
    1. cheaper than bumper 2.useful for light bar security 3. looks super cool
    Cons,
    1. not to much use out of it

    Pros to bumper.
    1. Place for spare tire, rotopax, hi-lift 2. Don't have to worry about getting rear ended 3. Back-up lights
    Cons.
    1. Cost a ton more, would have to pay it off

The reason I don't go with a swingout is because when I go camping, my tailgate is down with the bed extender....I know you can have the swingout open, but that sticks out way too much...I have considered a roof rack for my spare and highlift...we'll see when the time comes

Running into strange noises from the truck this past week.

I have a squealing at slow speeds from (i suspect) front driver side wheel. It happens around 10-20 mph and on or off brakes. Could be bearings?

I also have this horribly loud vibration and subtle puttering sound under load from 20-30. Can't seem to pinpoint where its coming from. Feel like it could be exhaust. Any tips/ideas?

    Thanks

I built a swing out tire carrier and I love it. I used a trailer spindle if I need the tailgate it takes 5 minutes to pop it off. Plus when I haul big stuff I stick it on the carrier.image.jpgonly picture I have but I was thinking of putting a bracket on it level with the truck box making a makeshift "ladder rack". I used a big c clamp to move lumber I actually prefer it over tailgate down.
