Wonder if someone will be selling the Back 2 the Future Tribute "4x4" mud flaps like we saw on the 2016 Tribute Truck?

I've been checking with my dealer. Apparently in the SE, exhaust tips are on back order and they can't find mud flaps for the 2016 models.

It looks like factory mud flaps for a 2016 Tacoma are the must have toy for this holiday season.

My truck came with them even though they weren't in the build. Dealer ate the $140

No problem. I'm going to buy 2 pair also. I think I'll even buy the floor mats when they are ready. I don't think much of these all weather mats the dealer put in my truck. I think they are for the 15' as they look nothing like the pictures on the Toyota web site.

I was told that the mud flaps were left off for better gas mileage, so that the MPG ratings would be higher. Government regs?

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Little wing tabs on side are the splash guards. Just keep spray off side of truck. Maybe you have to ask for mudflap style. :notsure:

Standard on Canadian trucks included in the price along with the trailer package.

The OEM flaps are not much of an effort. They are hard polymer designed to break off the first time you go through a mud hole lined with tree roots and rocks. I would have preferred a soft rubber compound but they are what they are. To their credit they will keep the slush and snow off the vehicle though.

I don't go off road so that's not a concern for me. Just dirt roads which can do damage to the lower body from flying rocks. Snow is the problem for me. I've ripped the flaps off on older Tacomas when backing up in the deep snow. But I still want the stockers for my truck.

I should have added deep snow. It isn't unusual for us to get 24 inches or more overnight. Backing up would or could be an issue in deep crusted snow. I suspect you would have much the same problem.

Mud flaps and floor mats are not standard. I paid over $38k for my TRD sport and wasn't happy to hear that floor mats were extra. My dealer said they would send me a $50 gift card in the mail in a few weeks to help cover the cost. I always put Weathertechs in my vehicles but since they aren't available I was going to run the standard floor mats until then. Now I have a truck with NO floor mats. Not happy.
