Damn quite a drive! Didn't look like all Forrest service road either which was nice! Still don't see a bridge though...

If we get a bunch of snow next week as predicted, the 21st could be a great time. Count me in regardless! I think I have the GPS tracks from our last trip I-90 to Highway 410 via Stampede Pass. Need to look for it but that is a fun route.

Well im still down for the 21st. The forcast has been all over the place for all the passes the last couple of days. At one point they were saying Stevens Pass might get 8"+ and now its back to just 1". But thats early season for ya!

I havent been to that bridge in years....like 20 years probably. Awesome views if you go in the summer but going after rainfall is pretty awesome too. Its a forest service road but one of the better maintained ones from what i remember. Worth checking out if youve never been. Could even do the bridge and then Tahuya in a day if one didnt mind a bit longer of a day. Or just bridge and explore the area

It's on private property. Last I heard it was being cracked down on for trespassing

I remember reading somewhere that one of the ways to get there was private property and the other isn't.. But they did just block the road less than a mile from the trailhead to the bridge, even then the trail is only .5 mile or so from the forest service road. One of my friends just went there a few weeks ago.

The bridge is super sketchy now though, last time I was there people had set fires on it so some of the railroad ties were burnt out and had large gaps.. 347ft above the bottom. Still worth it if your careful.

Yup the Vance Creek bridge is on private property. I believe Simpson owns it. Used to be a pretty local area to check out but recent years theres been a lot more people going up to it. Sadly the owners have to take the safe route and close it off. Cause we all know if one idiot fell off, their family would sue.

I can't believe they are just closing it down this year.. Those things sticking out from the bridge, people have climbed out on some to hang shoes or something from the end.. At least there was when I was there last

They go through cycles more than anything. Its mostly on summer weekends that you have to worry. The sheriffs dont want to go up there for 1 or 2 people but some weekends it gets pretty packed (well a lot more than 2 cars).

This time of year youd more than likely have no issue going.

You are making me decide between snow wheeling and going with you... Actually I was thinking of something to do for a date and she would like this.. TW solves all my problems haha

Theres not really any wheeling there.. Unless you mean hit up that and tahuya in the same day.

Thought the snow trip got pushed back to the 21st? Or you mean up by you?

The bridge and tahuya in a day would be a long day. Doable but youd want to start somewhat early

I would just go snow wheeling with someone but there will probably be a lot of people since it'll be the first good weekend to go.

I agree its doable but long.. Don't have to do the whole loop though.
