And you need more paint on those new coilover towers there too.

Yup. But those and the rear will have to wait until spring next year.

The travel numbers I have right now until everything gets broken in.

    image.jpg

At droop I have an extra 1/2" of shaft left. At bump I have between 3/4"-7/8" of shaft without any weight in the truck.

Yes I'm going to run "triple" secondaries with the coilovers. I'm not sure about what valving to run because my coil overs are adjustable. I'll see. Yeah I saw what the LT guys posted. But they have done it for a while and they have the best info on what to do. I know it's more work but to make sure the truck isn't kicking your ass the valving has to get tuned in. Or not run secondaries but you take the chance of over working the coil over. It's all up to you.

Big thanks for @Night Eagle for coming over and lending me a hand. He installed the new wheel studs while I finished up the timing belt. We took off the 2wd transmission off the 2.7 to try and reuse the parts but they won't work and i'm going to have to call toyota to get new hardware for the flex plate and mounting the transmission to the new motor. While I was doing the timing belt the crank and one of the head cranks (whatever it's called) moved. So I lined everything up the best I could and hopefully I didn't throw off the timing. I also added the new water pump and thermostat. I also installed the long travel for good. Everything is "goodntight" quoted from @teamhypoxia :D

are you referring to the german torque spec known as geutentight? :D

and are you saying you moved the crank and a camshaft independent of each other?
that would definitely mess up the timing. I don't know a damn thing about that specific motor, but if it's an interference motor you could do big expensive damage cranking it with the timing wrong.
If not, it just won't run.
There should be timing marks on the cams and crank to line up. maybe teeth to count? If it were me, I'd need to google for a picture or something to make sure I had it right. ... or I'd be calling my two favorite toyota mechanics @lotsoftoys @thefatkid and pestering them for info

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
It was a simple little twist of the wheels and crank. There was no major adjustment to them. Just give it a little time ray snd we will have your truck up and running.

It's a non-interference motor, and there should be dots on the cams and the crank as well as the new timing belt. You really can't mess it up.

Yeah I lined everything up just like the pic. I'm just picky. I didn't noticed any markings on the belt. I'll double check it tomorrow.

A good way to tell if you got it all right is by turning the crank two full rotations. Everything should be tdc again if I remember correctly from when I did it.
