So I'm planning on buying the icon stage 2 lift kit for my truck but instead of using the AAL I plan on buying the All-Pro standard leaf pack. Does anybody know if this will work properly? Or do the 2.0 icon shocks not have enough travel for that?

This is a really old thread and I'm reading through it because I am trying to decide what shocks to buy but I just have to point out that ONLY A MORON WOULD BLAME THE NEW OWNERS OF A COMPANY FOR WHAT THE PREVIOUS OWNERS DID!!!!! What kind of an idiot would even bring up something like this??????!!!! It doesn't make any difference what the previous owner did. He doesn't own the company anymore.

I've been leaning towards Kings but since I DO drive mostly on the streets and high speed interstates I most probably will go with the ICONS and one of the reasons, albeit a small one, is that "some" of the KING lovers mostly seem to be the biggest assholes on this forum! That certainly isn't the only reason because any of these shocks cost a bundle but I am thinking that for my purposes the ICONS most probably will do me the best. I just wanted to add once again that "some" of those those that love KING shocks seem to be the biggest assholes on this forum and only a moron would blame the present owners of a company for what the previous owner did. Thinking like that shows possible brain damage from too many drugs whether legal or illegal resulting in possible mental retardation.

You have a REALLY tough job, ICON rep, having to maintain you're composure while dealing with a few really BIG ASSHOLES like "some" of those on this forum. I could never "bite my tongue" like you have managed to do. I would have already lost my job for telling them to "F" off and go buy something else if you don't like us.

Notice I only said "SOME" for everyone who reads this post.

Excellent point. That would put Volkswagon and Dupont in the same boat as well along with a whole plethora of huge, global companies.

    Go fast stuff
Couple things.. and I want this to come off in the best way possible.

You shouldn't pick a brand based on what kind of people like that brand because it has nothing to do with what YOU are investing in.

With all the talk going back and forth on specifically Icon and King and whether digressive or progressive is better, my opinion is this... Progressive is simply much better for off road performance and on road comfort. The reason as explained before is on road when you want a smooth ride going over any cracks or dips, a smooth ride is what you get. And for off road, when your cruising down a fire road or bombing through whoops, you want the suspension to be able to soak up as much of the big bumps as possible before bottoming out because that is no good for your ass or your truck. Basically when you want it to make more force, it will make more force PREDICTABLY. This leads me to the digressive characteristics which are not predictable off road when your shocks are seeing higher higher shaft speeds. Mainly because there is essentially a "breaking point" where your shock will stop increasing force linearly with respect to the shaft speed, and it makes it much harder to tell when you are going to bottom out on a bump or not.
Now, for those who didn't know before I am an intern for King Shocks so yes I may be a little biased, but I am also surrounded by the most knowledgeable guys in this industry who really know what their talking about when it comes to performance and tuning. I can also back this up because King is the only company that if you have a race truck, you can meet them in the desert and they will help tune your truck. Basically the only company with factory race support. More specific to what we have been talking about, some of this info on why digressive is not ideal I received from an engineer/production manager here at king who also head of Shocks/tuning for Robby Gordon (other than Robby himself).
Take all that info for what its worth, I don't care if you agree with me or not. I'm just doing my best to give the best information to the people who are actually looking for it.

    One last thing :drevil:

The first video is the Colorado kit made by king and total chaos which we put all the work in to creating for the truck from scratch in coalition with TC.

The second video, Icon came out with two weeks after Kings release date and the kits are identical... Maybe its just me (and everyone at king) but it seems to me like maybe there is an absence of originality in the situation...

ICON did a better job of showing the suspension working in slo mo rather than long-distance helicopter shots where you can't even tell it is about suspension...
