I think I have a WTF story. My niece went to school Wednesday and handed out her birthday invites for the weekend. She waited till school was out to do so because everyone in the class was not invited. Well one girl that didn't get invited got her feelings hurt so momma called the school and now my niece has to invite everyone in the class. She waited till after school instead of handing them out in class because, for one she doesn't want all of them there and two she doesn't necessarily like them all and three her mom and dad can't really afford to throw a party for the entire fifth grade. Now the school insist she hands out invites to everyone, since when does the school get involved in this shit?

 

^That right there is some bull. Having two small children myself, I know how throwing parties can be for little ones. I'm sorry my child doesn't like yours. "Grown-ups" should be able to understand how not everyone gets along with everyone else. Don't be offended because they weren't invited.

That is a WTF. But I can't say I'm surprised. My wife is a teacher and some of the parents are truly fucked in the head.

Personally. I'd say no. What can the school do about it? Absolutely nothing. In fact, because I'm an evil asshole. I WOULD invite the whole class except that kid. Just to make the point.

 

Since we the people, turned this country over to political correctness.

You know what fixes this chit...vouchers. Because then you yank your kid out of that mess and enroll them in another school wit a more sane staff of administrators.

 

That's all well and good, but then (at least around here) the parents have to provide transportation to and from the new school. Some people just can't do that.

 

Oh well. At least give the parents the choice.
If finding a way or making the sacrifice to get your kid to a better school doesn't work...deal with the whole class at the party, or whatever lunatic policies the school provides.

 

Meh. The school can do absolutely nothing to them. I'd politely tell them to go fuck themselves.

I would say cancel the whole damn thing since a parent got their panties in a twist but that is just punishing the innocent kids

 

They can't make the parents do that. Not legal. We had that issue many years ago (15?) when my son was a wee little bitty, and we told the school to suck it. I asked them to show me which law made it mandatory, and they backed down. They may have it as a "policy" but they have no legal right to make you do it.

 

Luckily your niece's school does not represent the majority of schools, who would more likely tell the upset parent that it is not their problem, and hope the parent doesnt elevate it to the school board, go to a news outlet, or try to sue for something.

These kinds of ridiculous situations are 100% driven by parents threatening the administators in one way or another because they feel like little Bobby or Suzy was treated unfairly (like your situation). The administrators, being public servants, fold because they are afraid of losing their jobs.

 

Got it all wrong. Include a little stating 50 bucks at the door to pay for the party. Then serve hotdogs an doritos.

 

Send invitations with the principle's/teacher's home address on them.

 

Or resign to avoid being branded a racist-sexist-bigot-homophobe...

 

Or the offended child's parents house.
