    Thanks!

Awesome. I think there's a guy over on expedition portal - maybe here too - who did a "vintage" build. White access cab with white steelies and skinnies: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/77509-Pete-s-Tacoma-Build

Yeah man, save the ten grand if you don't need the extra features.

Perfect. Yeah I love how simple they are. What tires are you going with?

I know I am going for the 235/85 - it is either between Hercules Terra Trac ATII, or the Cooper STMaxx. I have the TerraTracs now in the 245/75 and they seem to be great tires, and have really good weights and siping to them. My upcoming, and much cheaper, mod is to replace all the rubber mounts/bushings with poly from Energy Suspension.

A not so quality photo, but current setup

I have also got to say, I have always disliked after market wheels but those SCS are fantastic.

I know right? So many V6s haha. I started to worry that I'd made a bad decision

    Thanks man!

I feel ya. Can't stand chrome or complicated wheels. I was so happy when I found @SCSPerformance wheels

Just wrapped up a trip with Overland Journal & BMW Motorrad - 900 miles of trails from Las Vegas through Southern Utah to Colorado - the Utah Traverse.

Only scraped the frame once on the Beef Basin trail, right before this picture at the gnarly right hander through the cliffs in the back.

The Hema Maps stickers aren't permanent - just one of the expedition sponsors.

I like the truck even more now, after going through mud and snow on Elk Ridge, going down Bobby's Hole and up Elephant Hill. Never got stuck or had to use the Maxtrax. Engaged the rear locker several times, but never had to use the front.

The 4.88s are so rad. The truck feels great now. Still a 4 cylinder, but performs awesome off-road.

Aired down to 12 psi, crawled up and over everything I threw at it.

I have very few complaints about this truck, but I do wish the swaybars could be disconnected more easily...

I also rarely think about selling my Tacoma, but when I do, it's because of trucks like this RHD Turbo Diesel BJ74 -

Damn that looked like an awesome trip! How was it working with Sinuhe? He seems like an awesome guy and has a ton of experience. Everything he was posting on instagram had me drooling over the trip.

Saw the BJ74 at Expo East, awesome!

I still envy yours though. Love my base AC 4-cyl.

Yeah, I need sliders asap, haha. I think I might drop it and do some tests, see how I feel without it around town. What suspension are you running?

    It was pretty rad!

Yeah man, he's awesome. Super cool guy, very knowledgeable, with a lot of respect for the land. Great to be on an adventure with. I had a great time

@ikarus I've got icon 2.5 coilovers up front, with tc uca, and gussets. Out back it did Ironman 4x4 foam cell shocks and an aal. I'm not happy with the leafs. Body roll has increased slightly with the plate bumpers but overall sway bar removal is the best free mod imo. I'm still researching my rear setup. Id like to not have sag when loaded for camping yet retain flex

Good to hear, I'd love to work with him someday. I interned for James Q. Martin in Flagstaff, AZ when I went to school there. He had nothing but good things to say about Sinuhe. I regret not taking the chance to work with him then!

I keep wanting to remove mine. I don't worry about doing it during driving when I'm in control of things, I worry about unexpected evasive maneuvers at highway speeds.

Hows the truck on the highway with the 4.88s? Any issues with the truck looking for another gear?

Thing is looking sick! lockers are one of the many things on the list for me to do, but constant struggle of tire size and gear ratio on what to get.

I've had to make some evasive maneuvers at 70mph guy cut me off and slammed on the brakes had to make a move for the other lane. It did fine. Really I think it's more of people overreacting in a situation like that, that leads to rollovers in truck and spin outs in cars
