Which bulbs are you guys using when going with an LED headlight option? I purchased the bulbs pictured, however the backside of the bulb, meaning the part sticking out of the headlight housing, is very large and doesn't currently fit. Need to find a way to make them fit or go with another option. What have you guys done? Pic is what I have.

This is the reason I went with the morimoto hid kit. No large bulky fans to fit in the limited space!

I thought about that. But I've had lots of issues with hid retrofit kits before. I wanted to go with an option a bit more modern. I've been rocking hid kits way back in 05-06.

I went with the VLED LMZ LED Bulbs for the High Beams and the VLED Morimoto HID's for the Low Beams, a good quality LED Bulb will not fit in the Low Beam Socket on the Driver Side because of the location of some sheet metal in the engine compartment, the HIDs will. Don't go cheap on the bulbs and harnesses etc, you get what you pay for!

Yeah I'll likely go with hid's for the low beams. Kind of a disappointment... I wanted to run the LED.

I spoke with VLEDS and they said they are working on a different style of LED Bulb that will probably work in the Tacoma but it won't be ready for about 2 years.

All reports from different guys say the HIDs are pretty good in the projectors, my only suggestion would be to not go cheap! Personally I went VLEDS all the way.

Headlights are quite general when it comes to the bulbs.

    Mike,
I initially bought the VLED's and was hoping there was enough clearance. Posted the measurement months ago waiting for VLED delivery. None of the best LED's with fans will work. The Xenon Depot LED's will fit but do not give the light output. I broke down and bought the Morimoto HID's. You can also get the VLED HID's. Using the VLED LED's for the high beam and Xenon Depot LED's for the Fogs. Went with the VLED red 7443's and 60ohm resistor for the tail lights which work well. The Morimoto's in the projectors are friggin bright!!!!

Sure, if it wasn't a projector housing and a whole new Gen of Tacoma. He is asking for bulbs that fit his 2016.

I'm sure you already posted this in one of the other threads, but which VLED LED for the high beams did you end up going with?

oh god.. sorry I spoke.. total noob here... lol
I just meant in general LED's are generally in the same as far as output color, and so forth. I know there are vast differences in plenty of factors such as you've mentioned along with wattage, lumens, and so forth... I was saying generally as in the aspect of color, general output.. I don't think we're seeing eye to eye here....

But I wasn't asking about color, output, lumens... Etc. I wanted to know if anyone has managed to fit a decent quality led low beam bulb in a 3rd gen. I fix cars for a living and am generally well aware of how things operate, however I was hoping there was perhaps an LED low beam bulb out there I was unaware of that maybe someone had experience fitting it into their 3rd gen.
