I'm im the same boat. I was wearing metal armor scavenged from enemies, probably not more than 20 resistance all together. I found some nice Minuitemen armor during one of the missions in the castle. Looks pretty cool. I think it's around 50 damage resistance, and very Captain America-ish.

Here's to nine hours of work before I can get on again! :smash:

The one thing that's kinda pissing me off about Fallout 4 so far is how badly mangled the UI is for the inclusion of controllers. I know that's a big chunk of your sales and all, but as a pure PC player that hasn't used a controller in years, the clunky choice making and selection processes from within menus is fucking infuriating.

It's not quite Skyrim 1.0 bad, but it isn't far off.

You fellas are making me jealous. I bought the game 2 days ago, but have not had time to play it. Damned parental responsibilities, home ownership, & such...

I came across a couple traders already, also I don't think there are going to be as many as you are also responsible for setting up towns with all the merchants needed through the workshop.

Because I played the previous Fallouts on consoles I felt right at home using my xbox controller for play on PC. I find using the keyboard very difficult, been without it for too long.

To touch on this, last night I discovered if you activate your workbench then aim towards a vehicle it will highlight yellow then you can scrap it as long as it's inside the green boundary that appears. I scrapped everything I could at the Red Rocket truck stop and ended up with almost 300 steel. I started building a settlement there, added a safe to the floor inside the truck stop to store things and also a bed to sleep.

I did the same thing, only I swapped my 'home-20' back to Sanctuary once I got the settlers' quests going and blew up the deathclaw. Set up the beds, etc. Working on the water pumps tonight.

One thing that sucks, for the PC anyhow....I can't move while in workshop mode. I can move from place to place, activate workshop mode, scavenge/scrap everything within a 20 yard radius....then I have to close out to 'normal' mode and move to another nearby location within the green zone, re-open workshop mode, and scavenge/scrap more stuff.

The movement keys only slide around in the select items menu for me. Giant PITA.

That's cool. I probably need to migrate over to Sanctuary also. Is there a way to rotate the parts once you select them and are trying to place them? I.E. rotate them on an x, y, z axis so they align better with the ground. It seems as if the placement is strictly a 90* increment type of thing.

With mine, when I'm placing say a bed in a room, I move it till it's where I want it and green, then right-clicking rotates it at around 20 degree increments. Once its in place, E to place it and BANG....sexytimes place is open!

Yeah, all the reviewers are saying the PC edition is in rough shape control wise. Hopefully they will patch that up.

On Xbox One I've had no frame drop issues that some online have complained about. About the only time it freezes is for a second when I enter a new building, attempt to quicksave, and enter my pipboy immediately, which just shows me I should invest in a usb 3.0 drive holder and SSD eventually for this game.

I've got a Sony 850i series SSD in my PC and have zero stutters, load pauses, freezes, etc. It also helps to have a massively overclocked MB and 16GB RAM at 1600 matched with it

I'm sure on my PC I'd have zero stutter issues, but I prefer Fallout on console for whatever reason. I have a Corsair GT SSD, 1600 mhz 8 gb ram, and a z77 board so I assume it would be great.

So there are boundaries. Guess i never realized what the green fog stuff was. I knew about the workbench and yellow highlighting though

The ps4 version is very friendly for crafting (dont even have to find the workbench to activate the mode, just hold down on the touchpad), although i wish they had just explained it even a little since its a new feature for even old fallout gamers.

Yea, that would be fine, depending on the GPU. Even a bargain-bin GT9xx would scream at ultra, and those are under 250$

Do you use WASD as your movement keys? I don't have any problem moving around freely in workshop mode.
