So i tried a few "jack rabbit" starts today from a dead stop. The computer seriously inhibits acceleration from a stop until you are rolling a bit and then it allows the truck to run.

So i figured it try it after pushing the traction control button, but it had the same result.

Is there any way around this? Not that im looking to burn through my tires, but its noticeably held back off the line.

I've been in 2 situations in 4LO with the pedal to the floor trying to get up a hill. RPM's get limited and I barely make it up. Both times without the rear end locked.

So people are saying to turn off vsc/Trac. Why aren't people responding to that?

With ect enabled, and the tc button pressed is what i tried after trying just normal. Same result really. It would be nice to truly disable the tc if desired, but it is what it is.

Did you try pressing the switch and holding for 3 sec or so to see if it will turn off trac and VSC?

That's the thing about traditional traction control. It's either all the way on or all the way off. More and more cars have an in between mode that allows for a little slip but still keep things in line.

But isn't traction control disabled in 4-Lo unless in MTS?

As far as I know, yes.

I asked the dealer about it and he had the tech look in the software setting for a fix or change. I forget exactly what he told me but basically said there is no software fix for it.

Guys guys guys. Reading manuals is close to reading instructions on how to assemble a gas Bar BQ . Only after you end up with extra parts or in the case of playing with buttons on the truck only when and after you have tried every possible combination do you go to the manual and then only in the can sitting on the throne well out of sight of "she who knows best".
