    get something with a pistol grip. I have one with the long handles and it's not convenient to hold the end of the tube firmly up against the zerk and pull the handle at the same time all while trying to hold the canister.

    THis is good advice. Just yesterday I was holding the grease gun with one hand, the flexible tip with the other hand, and using the earth to close the handle on the gun. probably looked nuts!

    Not necessarily. If the tip is adjusted right and the zerks are in good shape it will stay on in any position

    Very true. Yesterday I was greasing a bolt, hence no zerk and needed the grease to come out. :D

    Also for the OP, here is a pic of the coupler. Notice it twists onto the zerk fitting. and twist off when done pumping grease.

    If it ain't tight, grease will just come out the coupler end, and make a mess. :)

    what i've found that works when greasing UCAs, connect hose to zerk, rest canister on your tire, hold canister against tire with your forearm while your hand of the same arm holds the hose on the zerk, then use the free hand to pump the handle with care. you want control on the pumping hand because you don't want to over-grease your UCAs.

    I did this for a living, the pistol grip w/flex hose is the easiest to operate, the lever pump, not so much...

    I agree but had a better experience with the pistol grip while laying under the truck :p I used the other one for long but since I have the pistol grip my hand always finish on this one.

    I agree about the Lincoln grease guns. Best out there and not that expensive. They offer pistol grip models as well but I find that the old school lever style with a long whip fit everywhere I need and is easy to store in the toolbox.

    You can also get the Lincoln guns from Snap-On and enjoy their no hassle warranty.
