Ordered or bought off lot

Worst I ever had was back in 2006...had to wait 6+ months for my Mustang GT to be built because Ford dropped the ball and didn't order enough manual transmissions. A few weeks for my truck is nothing compared to that.

 

WBF610 would you be kind enough to share the Names of those Allentown Area Dealers specifically the ones that were good to work with. Thank You.

 

Ordered 10/23/15 (still waiting....) couldn't locate a manual in the configuration I wanted.

I ordered one. The options i wanted couldn't be found in the SE. Just a SW, dbl cab, 4wd, tech non-jbl w/tow. Didn't care for all the port added crap. My build date was Nov 10. Tried to change color to QS but it was too late.

 

It was between a new Tacoma and a new f150 for me. F150 I wanted was 50+k before tax. Xlt with some goodies. Taco I wanted was about 40k before tax. Wanted a white or black double cab long box with the sport upgrade package. Dealer close by had both. Went in to test drive one. The white one hadn't been PDI'd yet so drove a random black one. Made a deal on the white one. Traded in my 2010 f150 xlt with 80k on it. They gave me a decent price for my truck surprisingly and then knocked 1500 off the Tacoma. Drove it home later that day after pdi. I'm 30 and this is my 7th vehicle now. (too many some of my friends say) 3rd pickup truck, went from an f350 to f150 and now Tacoma (went from big to small). And throw in a couple used Mustang gt convertibles with less than 10k on the clock in the mix. Feel like I'm 19 again throwing money at a new vehicle in modifications

 

Walked in to the dealership on Monday to look at one in person and test drive. They ended up having the exact model and color I wanted so I went back Tuesday and made the deal. They only had 2 on the lot.

 

Did they give you a hassle about getting the deposit back? Where I signed mine, it says NON-Refundable.

The dealer is telling me that Toyota is not accepting my order and they don't know why. It's nothing special, but I might like to just go look around. I put 1000.00 down.

Nope. I walked in asked for the manager and said I don't want it anymore. They said okay. No hassle. Since Toyota would not accept your order you should be able to get your money back.

 

I didn't pay a deposit. Find a new dealer...

 

Flew to AutoNation in West Palm Beach for my preowned MX5 last April. No bait and switch. We had the deal done in email . Gave them a $500 CC deposit Flew down for $89 , bought the car and drove back. Saved $2500 over buying locally. Also got an invoice price for my Tacoma 120 miles away but instead offered my dealer $500 over and preferred to do the deal here.

 

My dealer was pretty good about it. They asked for a $500 deposit, but it was refundable (they knew they could sell the truck if I didn't want it). Here in NM, it's hard to find a 4wd and even harder to find a 4wd OR. Throw in that I was looking for an Access Cab and, well - good luck. I only had to wait about a month for a truck to come in that had what I wanted in a color I liked.

 

Not too anal at all. When I bought my 2013 it had everything I wanted minus the manual transmission. But it was December 2013 so stock of 2013s was limited.
I'm currently shopping for a 2016 with the same specs (TRD Sport v6 4x4 Towing DCSB) but being very picky about getting a manual at this time.
I also really want the moon roof. But Toyota online doesn't even list that as an option so I can't tell from the online inventory lookup if the truck in question has a moon roof.
